Philippines’ Cherry Mobile gets better specs than Lumia for less in New WP devices? Alcatel also with new WP phone

The number of WP OEMs keeps growing. Cherry Mobile from the Philippines is rocking out a couple of new handsets with WP.

At 3000PHP, the ‘STYLE’ encroaches on the super entry level Lumia territory (69USD/42GBP) . For not much more at 5000PHP (114USD/71GBP) there’s quite a respectable 5″ HD screen, 8MP, 1.2GHz quadcore, with a full 1GB RAM.

The Nokia Lumia 630 has a 512MB RAM and a non HD 4.5″  screen! Interestingly the official spec sheet at the event notes that the phones run on Windows 8.1 (not windows phone)

I’m not familiar with Cherry Mobile’s devices. I know they seem to be able to pull out a lot of specs for less money, but performance wise, are they more than just hot air?

Meanwhile, Alcatel are also making a WP device in various colours. The interesting thing about this device is that it supposedly is the first WP phone with 64bit processor. Not that WP can currently take advantage of that but perhaps in the future?

The colour choice seems like the same ones Nokia made for the Nokia 7210.
