Microsoft Family grows again, buys Minecraft for 2.5 Billion USD

It was a highly expected and now it’s official. Microsoft has bought Swedish Mojang, creator of Minecraft for 2.5 billion dollars!

Nadella says:

Minecraft is more than a great game franchise – it is an open world platform, driven by a vibrant community we care deeply about, and rich with new opportunities for that community and for Microsoft.

Minecraft is of course a huge multiplatform hit. When it came to Xbox, it became the best selling online game.

Phil Spencer is making sure Minecraft is nurtured under Microsoft

Microsoft’s enjoying making multibillion dollar purchases in Europe.
