LG’s Bezel Free phone one step closer to the MS Concept card phone

no bezel

What a futuristic looking thing no? This is from LG and it’s essentially just a screen at the front with bezels being only 0.7mm. No front facing camera (the only thing you need at the front I guess and could be circumvented with a rotating camera).

At 5.3″ with simply just the screen, this should be smaller perhaps even than say the 925 with a 4.5″ but with bezel and bits top and bottom.

There may be some usability issues, mostly because current UIs aren’t designed with phones that have no bezels. But eventually it could work. Something that might stay a permanent problem is vulnerability to cracked screens as these phones will be edge to edge.

Regarding missing a speaker for calls, I watched a video on Sharp’s almost bezel free phone (it’s all at the chin) and they use bone conduction to transmit call audio. Pretty awesome work around!

Sharp also has that cool pulsing colour around the edge of the screen. Playing games and taking pictures looks so immersive.
