Gold is a re-emerging colour in the wave of more colourful devices. Although it was really Nokia that pushed through the whole ‘colourful phone’ in the age of black/white and grey (they’ve also always been doing colourful phones), I’d have to say it’s the iPhone that made all the other manufacturers follow too with gold versions – e.g. HTC and of course Samsung.
The metal frames of both the 830 and 930 are now in a premium gold finish – all that lovely anodized gold color.
This isn’t the first Nokia to be gilded in a new gold tone (e.g. N97 mini, 6700, Nokia Oro, 8800 Gold Arte, C3-01 etc) but I think the first among the Lumias.
The glossy white and gold looks well done here at the back. Do you reckon the face should also be white?
