Screen Shot 2015-04-09 at 22.04.03Microsoft today announced the UK availability of the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL. The former is already available to purchase and will be joined by the Lumia 640 XL by the end of April.

The newest additions to the Lumia portfolio offer seamless Microsoft experiences including pre-installed Office apps, OneDrive cloud storage and 4G connectivity for increased productivity. Both devices have a crisp HD screen – 5” on the Lumia 640 and 5.7” on the Lumia 640 XL – and can capture detailed photos even in low light thanks to the 8MP camera on the Lumia 640 and 13MP on the Lumia 640 XL.

Ready with Windows Phone 8.1 & Lumia Denim update, both devices will be upgradeable to Windows 10 as it becomes available.

The Lumia 640 will be available starting from only £99.99 or £15.50 per month on contract in the UK with Dixon Carphone Group, EE, O2, Vodafone, Three, Amazon, Tesco and Virgin in a variety of colours including glossy cyan and orange and matte black. Dixon Carphone Group will stock the Lumia 640 exclusively in glossy white. The Lumia 640 XL will be available from a range of online retailers starting from £219 SIM-free in matte cyan, orange and black, as well as both matte and glossy white.

I’m quite digging the 640 XL – I think my dad will enjoy that after using the 535.
