20 days left until Nokia’s MWC Nougat Announcement

| February 6, 2017 | 27 Replies

In less than three weeks, Nokia and HMD are expected to announce their new Android Nougat smartphones destined for the global market.

We’ve had plenty of rumours regarding the possible devices we might see. The one I’m most excited for is of course the flagship Nokia

Officially on the books, Nokia isn’t at MWC until February 27th.  However, if you remember, the Nokia China Weibo page that talked about February 26th at 4:30pm being the date when their next consumer chapter would be unveiled.

I hope they can keep things under wraps with regards to device leaks.

What are you most looking forward to at MWC?

What would you like to see from the New Nokias?

I believe all of us are exquisitely excited for this momentous occasion. I, for one, can’t wait to see what sort of tricks Nokia has up it’s sleeve (in terms of design, services, optimizations, features, user interface and user experience).

Jay, will you be physically attending it this year?

    • Even I am interested to know whether Jay will attend the MWC.

Just reply to one of these posts.
Come on… I believe in you.

        Will you be attending?

    • Do you remember I was saying about 4g feature phones about to launch in India? They are here http://www.themobileindian.com/news/lava-launches-indias-first-4g-enabled-feature-phone-for-rs-3333-16442
Now I think Nokia will have to launch 4g feature phones in India if they have to stay strong in feature phone market.

I’m not too informed on that but I’ll take your word for it…

Surprised to see there’s hardly any solid leaks regarding what is gonna be announced considering the avalanche of leaks for LG G6 and Samsung s8

    • According to me leaks are made public by companies themselves.

      • Some are, some are real leaks 🙂

As much of a household name as Nokia is as far as mobile phone OEMs go, they lost a lot of fans when they decided jump onboard with Microsoft and Windows Phone OS and many of those have since moved on to Android or iOS so general interest is mostly from us enthusiasts, not surprising to not see any official image leaks of the MWC debut phones.

whatever they will announce, should be available next day – from webshops, operators, anything.

but please, do not follow old nokia having months between announcements and real things in hand…

show what you have in real and flood the market with it!

plus, make some available with Sailfish! 🙂

      Agreed!!!

Having less than a 28 day turn around would be optimal.
Show something, build the hype, make the market get thirsty for the product, see public feedback and reception, and have the product in the consumers hands within that very same month.

I feel this will show a tremendous amount of confidence and determination by Nokia.

The phone won’t be lost in a sea of new info (from other phones being released, etc)

      • Very True 🙂
Even Moto G5 will be available for purchase after launch.

I’m looking forward to / hoping for a smartphone with camera capabilities that approach the dizzy heights of the Lumia 1020. Hands down the best smartphone camera I’ve used. The Lumia 950 was a real disappointment / step down vs 1020, so if the Nokia (HMD) offering is good – I’ll be defecting from Windows 10 Mobile to Android, driven by a confidence that the hardware will be up to scratch.

I’d love to but, due to my time constraints with work, and patients and family, and girls, I kinda cannot compose a well thought out and thorough message. Instead I’ll give a hint as to what I think were nice attempts…

    Nokia 3390
    Nokia 8800
    Nokia 6682
    Nokia N82
    Nokia N95
    Nokia N8 / E7
    Nokia E72
    Nokia 808

    Real. Solid. Nokia!

    • thanks 🙂

      N9?

      • EricLovesSymbian

        EricLovesSymbian says:

        You’re right! Lol, can’t believe I missed that…

Well, with that, it becomes ten

  • zlutor

wasn’t it about best Nokia phones, not OS?

[that would have been MeeGo, anyway… :D]

  • EricLovesSymbian

    EricLovesSymbian says:

    Lol…
    Cute.

But I think the N8 E7 and 808 were symbian. I’m not sure if the others were or not.

  • zlutor

well, god knows, what it was actually – might be Maemo.

for sure, there was MeeGo 1.2 API compatibility layer and Harmattan as UI

  • Does anyone remember the soundcloud account of Nokia where they uploaded Original Nokia ringtones??

    • Rocky Tirajean S

Nokia Design Team, but renamed to Microsoft Design Team now

Nokia flagship wishlist: wireless charging, always-on display (like Samsung’s, not Pixel’s), dark themes, Lumia aesthetics, near stock Android experience.
