Check out this interactive Nokia 3310 smartphone concept.

The thing that seems to be exciting everyone is the return of THE 3310. Richard Davies has a 3D render of what an updated 3310 might look like.

Another from Concept Creator – possibly more achievable.

Of course, smartphone like 3310s have always been fantasised in the blogosphere…

too big screen kills battery! πŸ˜‰

if it returns, it should be the ultimate featurephone: unbeatable battery life, 2-3-4G, maybe VoLTE

    • i want it to be VoLTE πŸ™‚

      • zlutor

yes, that would be a killer. especially in RJio network in India…

        • WOW you know about Jio network in India. We are getting unlimited sms, voice calls and data for free from September lol. And they are planning to further increase the offer for more 3 months after 31st March πŸ˜› I have a Nokia Lumia 1320 so i can just use internet and not calls lol. No VoLTE in Nokia Lumia 1320 πŸ˜›

          • zlutor

            yes, I know RJio… πŸ˜‰

I really hope (all) new Nokia devices will be VoLTE/VoWiFi capable ones…

e.g. (planned) RJio subscriber base is in multi-hundred(!) millions and having LTE network only. Not to mention how popular Nokia was in India…

            Let’s hope it is, still…

  • Check out this Nokia 3 concept from Concept Creator. I want Nokia phones to be like this πŸ™‚

I seriously doubt that the phone will look anything like any of these concepts.
The designs are too far fetched and antiquated with today’s standards.

It’s 2017! No phone will have a 1.5 inch screen, or anything remotely resembling that garbage pathetic junk horrible rancid Windows phone operating system, or have a xenon flash (flagship territory only, this is a mass produced budget phone), or having those dimensions, or even remotely resembling those photos.

The phone will be a budget phone for the masses. I hope it has all the 2G 3G 4G and VoLTE stuff but, who knows?

I would truly love a proper talk menu end button (like the phenomenal Nokia 808).

Priced right, it will sell in the tens of millions. And with a small screen, non Android operating system (which is full of unnecessary and unneeded ads and resource hungry) it should have stellar battery life. A 2 inch screen with a battery over 1300 mAh will equal to phenomenal battery life.

Imagine if they made two versions, one with a color screen and the other with an e-ink display (or something similar).

I miss having buttons and the ability to texts via T9. At some point you memorize where the placement of the numbers are and you could text in pitch black darkness, while driving, hands behind your back, hide the phone under the table, etc…

      I miss having buttons!

At least a true talk menu end button. Please!

      • Yes!!!!! 2 versions will be great πŸ™‚ I used to type without looking at the keypad while college lectures were going on. Just memorise the keys lol πŸ˜›

    • i want it to be almost same phone with same battery design that can fir in old Nokia 3310. The screen can be 2.0″ even if the maintain the same size of old Nokia 3310.
The buttons should be same as old Nokia 3310. If they change it then it won’t be the 3310 successor. the design and build quality should be same πŸ™‚
Just imagine if they launch a same Nokia 3310 in limited quantities. I will be very happy lol. atleast i’ll get original parts for my refurbished Nokia 3310 πŸ™‚

        EricLovesSymbian says:

If they make what you and I have said (requested), I will surely buy one… (Even if I don’t need one, just to support them and show them that there is a market for phones that are NOT all screen, no buttons, Android or Apple powered, and doesn’t have a 4K display or 5mm thin, etc.

        • Companies are fighting with specifications lol. For me 1080p screen will be more than enough. I don’t enjoy VR so i don’t need a 1440p or above resolution screens. I like my phones to be chunky and not thin lol.

            EricLovesSymbian says:

I remember you said you had a think case on your Windows phone and it weighed a good 200 g

I would think polylaminate and or clear fiberglass or transparent carbon fiber could be applied to the screen to make it shatter proof, therefore making it have the least amount of bezels. Something in the context of fitting a 5 or 5.3 in screen in the chassis of a phone the size of the 4.7 in iPhone 7.

Perhaps a 5.5 inch screen in a phone that is marginally smaller than the Galaxy S7 edge , yet marginally bigger than the iPhone 7.

            • Battery Life will improve if we have thick phones πŸ™‚

    • Systematic Systematic

      +1
And that is why I vote to replace with Linux MeeGo Sailfish OS which is more then very battery-friendly. And that would work pretty good IMHO.
