Rumor: Lumia 610 Successor “Glory” to Launch with WP7.8 Later This Year?

Even though we’re only 3 days away from Sept. 5th, we’ve only seen actual evidence of two upcoming devices, the Lumia 820/Arrow and the 920/Phi. However the Verge report that Nokia have a successor to the low end Lumia 610 in stock set for later release, their source claims that the Successor code named “Glory” will not be announced at this weeks events, but may be available before the holiday season this year. Interestingly though the report also states that the Glory will run WP7.8 instead of WP 8, which personally leaves me very skeptical about the truth of this rumor. Glory is supposedly coming with a 4″ screen, 256 MB of Ram and a 800 Mhz processor.

If true we could be witnessing a new trend coming form Nokia, which is upping the screen sizes, I don’t think there are any other low-end devices out there that carry a 4″ screen, this along with the supposed 4.3-4.6″ of the Arrow seem to point to Nokia going with a “Bigger is Better” concept. Personally I approve, but I know alot of people out there think that the Lumia 900 is far too big for actual use, and prefer to stick it out with the 710 or 800. Also let’s not forget that bigger glass = More expensive phone, which doesn’t really help keep those prices low.

Personally I don’t see this one coming true, I can understand if Nokia chose to continue pushing the current line of WP devices even after the release of WP8, but releasing a new device running last years platform? Sounds very Androidy to me. What do you guys think?
