Nokia & Scalado: A Very Fruitful Acquisition

A lot of times we hear about a company purchasing another, making all sorts of buzz during the acquisition phase; then apparently do next to nothing with the company for the next 3 years or so. That’s definitely not the deal with Nokia’s purchase of Scalado’s imaging technologies last year, who within the short year of changing ownership have pushed out some incredible Lumia apps including:

• Creative Studio
• Smart Shoot
• Smart cam
• pro cam
• Glam me
• and many more

How well has Scalado been integrated with Nokia?

I think this must be one of the most successful integrations. The evidence is that within months we had brought out some of the key experiences.

Why did the deal with Nokia make sense?

We were recognised as a leading and creative company with a clear vision of what we wanted to achieve, but often we didn’t have the full means to do it.
