Video: Navigate the London Underground with "Tube" for Nokia N900

If you’re new to London, one of the fastest, cheapest but most daunting ways to get around the city is via the underground.

Looking at the map for the first few times is overwhelmingly confusing, resembling nothing more than a bundle of coloured strings.

Geeting from A-B may be fine if you’re on the same line, but what if you have to cross several lines? How the heck do you get around?

For Nokia N900 users you can use an application called “Tube” (there are London Undergound apps for Symbian). You’ll definitely be wanting this if you’re going to Nokia World 2010 which will be in London!

  • London Underground Tube Map (with nice kinetic scrolling as standard)
  • Route options from any station to another!
  • Double tap to select origin and double tap again to select destination station.
  • You’re given routes (no connection needed) as to which line to take
    • It tells you how long it will take
    • How many stops in between
    • which direction to take (e.g. you can be on the circle line but go clockwise when  you’re meant to go anticlockwise will waste your time!)

I’m not sure if this updates with Transport for London to avoid closed lines. It seems to have a Travel Alerts indicator but this doesn’t seem to work as another app shows (mwQTubeStatus) there are indeed certain lines that are closed.

You can download it FREE from the App Manager. You may need extras testing/extras devel application catalogues. CLICK Here to find out how to add them on to your N900
