If you were following joshuatopolsky (head honcho engadget) last night he made some remarks about some insane Nokia Fanboy.

So with the title of N8 and homocidal maniac, you could wonder how on earth is all this escalating? Well fear not. The N8 is simply enjoying some product placement in the incredible show “Dexter” a multi award winning (109 nominations, 33 wins – with Michael C. Hall winning a Golden Globe, Satellite Award, Saturn Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, TCA Awards – not to mention other awards won by other cast/crew and the show itself)
I love Dexter. It kinda helped desensitise me for our human anatomy dissection sessions (and kinda vice versa for watching Dexter). Great thriller, drama, fantastic story lines, awesome actors. EPIC.

Well, it’s a good thing Dexter was using a Nokia N8 – the way he held it (see those 2 pictures) had this been an iPhoney he would have been left disconnected midcall. Now that is what makes you go mental.
And thats why he threw his iPhone 4 into a lake and bought a Nokia N8 and seems really happy about it
Folks, what we are seeing at Engadget, Gizmodo, CNet and Techradar is what happens when you idolise inferior technology – the iPhone and Android, which really aren’t very good, and then along comes something that destroys it, and a much cheaper price.
The truth hurts these people. We are seeing their reactions to that pain, and their true characters. Rather than admit the N8 is indeed better, they give in to their dark sides (seriously, no joke) and lie and cheat to make the N8 seem worse.
Off topic. Has anyone seen the N8 offered for sale in the US besides the NokiaUSA store? I haven’t seen it at Amazon or Dell Mobilty. Might be too soon.
Not yet on Amazon.com but there on .co.uk – but yeah might be too soon. Hopefully before mid Oct.
I spoke to a rep at Amazon. They are showing availability from 1 to 3 months out.

The cost shown is MSRP. I dont expect them to keep it at that when they finally roll in. Wholesale cost is much lower.
Dexter’s been using Nokia’s since season 1 IIRC. Previously used an N96 if memory serves.
