We’ve seen N8 disassembly pictures before, and even received the manual DIRECT from Nokia Care. Here you’ll see a third party tear down of the Nokia N8 with even clearer instructions from the team at iFixit.

You know you wanna see the innards of the N8 
Note that in each of their steps, there’s a main picture and sometimes a few more to hover over for further clarification. Clicking on the pictures will also get you the larger images.
You probably will NEVER do this yourself, except perhaps step 5-7. With a standard T4 screw, unscrew the, well screws, remove the cap and the battery bracket and the BL-4D (which has received marked praises on battery life for N8, even by Eldar) slides out.

i read that one of the downsides they found upon taking the phone apart is that the screen and glass cover are separate so there’s the fear that dust can get in there and ruin the look
at least we’ll know how to get in there if that happens
Let’s wait and see if a significant number of users report this before we make assumptions! There is no record anywhere so far of dust under N8 screens, except from Eldar with his ‘review’ of a piece of hardware so early it was not even an N8, and we all know how much he loves Nokia
The only phone I ever hear of that happening was the Blackberry Storm, so I wouldn’t worry about.

main cpu(arm11 680) is a gaz00 (double zero) any1 know more about it?? i read it used for audio processing too….
My question is whether anyone has taken the time to identify the individual units on the motherboard. I want to know whether the CPU is an ARM 1176 or not LOL

Yeah, and you all know the main reason for this don’t you? Symbian and it’s extreme efficiency and maturity. Pure and simple. Which is why it’s so insane to suggest Android on the N8 (or any Nokia) – hello short battery life, hotter and more expensive hardware, worse performance.
Apparently the N8 has the same touch screen as the Kin two NOOOOOOO
what’s the probe?
N8 uses the same controller chip that Kin Wwo and BB use. But it unnecessarily means N8 has the same screen as Kin Two unless the controller include the sensor. I did not find the info about the controller.
N8 apparently has good sensor for vibration. I think the same thing can also work for screen touch. The screen is responsive. The so-called responsiveness problem is mainly due to the small font, according to my personal experience.

It has been mentioned that the microUSB and HDMI ports may be surface mounted, and we could see similar problems that the N900 has with it’s microUSB port becoming loose and eventually falling off or no longer operating.
I’ve not a chance to look at the pictures at the moment, but has anyone seen evidence of this or wants to refute?
