My Dream Nokia #13: Nokia E8 Touch and Type, VGA display, ARM Cortex A8 1GHz, Symbian^3 concept phone.
Hot on the heels of Nokia N12 concept: Presenting My Dream Nokia #13, it’s the Nokia E8 Touch and Type. This comes by way of Alberto Pietrobon, who started “My Dream Nokia” section back in November with the very first MDN #1 Nokia E5x MeeGo Touch and Type.
So onto the E8. The specs are jotted on the side.
As you can see, it features:
- N8 shell design
- QWERTY Keyboard
- 3.2″ Capacitive screen
- 640X480 display a expected in the upcoming, unannounced but leaked Nokia E6-00 (Said to have E7x form factor by Alex68)
- Gorilla Glas
- S^3
- ARM Cortex A8 1GHz CPU
- 512MB RAM
- 8MP…Autofocus! Oh yeah. I’m sorry fixed focus fans (or “full focus” whatever, it’s not autofocus to the masses)
The dimensions have never really been too much of a concern but I’m interested to see what it might be for this device. If it’s 3.2″ 4:3…I’m guessing the size of the device is about …115mm by 60mm. That’s a little wider than the N8 and a touch taller. The E6-00 is rumoured to have a 2.8″ which if somehow in this design would be a more compact 104x54mm (no math was used, just resizing of screen:p Can anyone do the proper math?)
About “My Dream Nokia”
I’m sure you’ve dreamt up your PERFECT Nokia phone. What it would look like, what it would feel like, what features it would have. Why don’t you share it with the world? Or at least with other Nokia fans
.
It could be your own photoshopped or rendered work (seriously, you don’t need mega skills in either, basic paint job is often enough to convey a concept) of your dream product.
SEND this in similarly to tips@mynokiablog.com with the title “My Dream Nokia” and perhaps the model number (and a little description, maybe a few specs in the message area? Though this bit not necessary).
Who knows, maybe an image might flutter over to Nokia and through whatever route end up being real.

Hi again , let me amend the above post to say I’d love to see a more advanced version of the Asha 303 ( 4xx , 5xx , or even 6xx ) , with a camera flash , better camera , preferably AF , Symbian Belle and the Belle GPU , maybe a slightly larger screen , about 2.8 or even 3.0 inches , sweet !!
I think four navigation keys and two soft keys should be kept rather than be replaced by virtual keys.
Nokia got drunk with Windows Phone. They don’t care that much about Symbian anymore. Sooner or later they will pull the plug.
Symbian and Meego were great OS’s. Short-sighted Nokia killed them.
I should say, my last Nokia will be the E72 as I cannot find a proper Nokia replacement. The E6 has a very small screen. They could have made it a big portrait, they are short-sighted.
You buy an Apple, you get tons of updates and new features. That’s a great value for your money. Nokia is struggling to release Symbian Belle…
my dream nokia is one wit an E8 shell and form, touch and type but very thin,ARM cortex A8 1.5 GHz CPU up to 50mbps browsing speed, symbian ^3 or ^5 concept or v2.3 android gingerbread with extra strong battery which can watch up 8 movies,8GB to 32GB memory,8 megapixel camera with VGA and carl zeiss tech for HD videos,FM radio, youtube player, web TV,Games etc
