Qt Geeky Avatar Profile Picture maker for Symbian on Ovi Store (Maemo version coming too)

We got an email from the people at geekyfriends.com that they’ve released an Application for Symbian called “Geeky Avatar” (soon to be available on Maemo too). It’s available for £1 on the Ovi Store. (I’m emailed to ask whether S^3 support will be available – Ovi Store currently says not for N8)

Quick update – got this email: Geeky Avatar is written in Qt and compatible with Symbian^1 S60 5th edition, Symbian^3 and Maemo (Meego in future).

What is it? Well it’s an avatar/profile picture maker. Maybe you’ve got an album and your friend’s face is missing, or you’ve got photos there you wanna jazz up. It’ll appear in your contact book and every time you have a phone call. Use it on your facebook, twitter or gravatar profile pic too.

“No more boring photos! Make geeky avatars for contacts in your address book just in a few clicks. With Geeky Avatar you can replace boring photos with cool images. With a lot of fun, billions of unique combinations, geeky accessories and high quality images. Also you can make your own cool avatar, save it to album and file. Use Geeky Avatar to lift the mood: just think about your friend and click Random!”

I haven’t tried this out yet myself but it’s on my list of things to try after these Jan exams :S.

Instructions from their site:

1) To begin, pick the gender of your avatar

2) To select an item, just click on any icon or slide your finger directly on the avatar.

3) To scroll a list, just scroll your finger along

4)Create avatars in geeky style and assign it to contacts, add to Album, or save to image!

Don’t know if this rounded corners option is also available.
