Nokia first customer of LG-Displays small AMOLED panel production

As you might be aware, Nokia’s current AMOLED line ups have been produced by Samsung, with the special polarising/CBD filter in some produced by Nokia.

This combination awarded Nokia’s CBD AMOLED as having best contrast, best colours and better sunlight readability than Super AMOLED, according to the meticulous folks at GSM Arena.

Though Samsung are working on AMOLED shortages by increasing production, it’s always good to have an alternative source (if they’re good enough that is).

Not straying far and staying with South Korea, Oled-a reports that LG are ready to start mass production of small sized OLED displays. This 4.5gen production line at Paju will be production in a few months and the first customers are said to be Nokia.

Note, rumoured LG B was supposed to have a better screen than iPhone 4’s retina display and Samsung’s Super AMOLED. But I think that was LCD? I’m not too certain.

Whilst we’re thinking LG, what does everyone think of the LG iPhone, I mean Optimus 2x with 1080p HDMI and 1080p video?

It will be interesting to see this versus the N8 and whether Nokia will come up with 1080p recording of their own. Because that’ll be a joy to edit/upload/store/conserve battery.
