CNN using Ovi Maps 3D for Royal Wedding tour
So. Royal Wedding huh? Here’s something cool and Nokia related again. CNN using the brand new Ovi Maps 3D to showcase the route of the Royal Wedding in London. The video is quite blurry so you can’t appreciate the photorealism of the maps. They’re really good.
I’m not sure if this CNN connection has anything to do with the Nokia N8 iReporters thing yesterday.
I hope NAVTEQ and Nokia extend this to more cities. It’s a great tool to use. Cheaper than having a helicopter fly over, huh?
update: better video from cnn direct: cheers hary
Cheers Adnan for the tip!

I really hope they improve it even better. I’m pretty sure not too many people use Nokia Maps to find locations. But this initial introduction through CNN may help them grab more users.
Nice! Nokia never got any attention for anything but negatives. It is nice to see some positive showings with the Nokia badge attached. Atleast now people can say “WOW! What was that!!”
Please explain more about the N8 iReporter thing. I haven’t heard any information about such an event.
youtube link?
Here is a better and longer different video.
It would have been nice, if they had shown a path drawn on the map with arrows or lines, would have added a nice touch than just panning aroun the map.
But atleast, Nokia finally did something right in their marketing.
Oops, forgot the link. There you go…

A good reference for Nokia to market their products!
