Download Apps from Ovi Suite! Yes! Updated – Nokia Ovi Suite 3.1.1.40 Beta

| June 14, 2011 | 17 Replies

Yesterday, Ovi Suite got an update that you can pick up over at Nokia Beta Labs. Apparently, it brings a MUUUCH awaited feature of app downloading from Ovi Suite. This would be really helpful for me as my current accommodation again is devoid of WiFi (from July onwards it won’t be so expect more frequent app demoes from us).

Just sign in with your Nokia account and get direct download and installation of apps. Currently it seems that it’s only free ones (I haven’t tried it). This should certainly help the downloading of Apps from Ovi Store. Hopefully they bring the paid ones too.

The new features in Nokia Ovi Suite 3.1.1.40 Beta

With the latest version of Nokia Ovi Suite, we bring you :

  • The direct download and installation of free Ovi Store apps, games, and more from the Nokia Ovi Suite home view to your connected phone. Just sign in first with Nokia account.
  • A simplified Maps view. You can instantly see which maps you have on your phone.
  • Support for quicker and smaller Nokia Ovi Suite updates (patch support). For example, Nokia Ovi Suite can be updated from the Nokia Ovi Suite 3.1.1.40 release to Nokia Ovi Suite 3.1.1.50 with an update package that is considerably smaller in size. Updating naturally takes place more swiftly. Major updates to Nokia Ovi Suite, like updating Nokia Ovi Suite 3.1.1.40 to Nokia Ovi Suite 3.2.0.50 still require the download of the full update package.
  • Lots of error corrections. For example, over 30 crash errors have been fixed in this release.

Thanks for the heads up, Jim!
