Video: The very hungry caterpillar – shot on Nokia N8

Here’s a video supposedly shot on a Nokia N8 by Rytis Kurkulis. I say supposedly as the quality is abnormal for a phone (though when I think about this I have to remember Topolino70’s work, and those mesmerising pieces from N8 Producers – this is just another day in the life of a Nokia N8).

Something else I’m not too sure of is whether this is with a macro lens or the N8’s new continuous AF mode. It doesn’t seem to shift in and out of focus at all despite leaves and whatnot getting in front (but then that might be too close) but only when the camera itself moves (indicating the narrow depth of field of the additional lens). Speaking of too close, the N8 on its own now can get pretty close in CAF macro mode. Check out that video of a snail from early sample videos.

It looks like something straight out of an Alien movie, no? Especially when its underside is in (ventral)view.
