Nokia World 1867, a top secret briefing. (Are you going to NW2011?)

| October 4, 2011 | 27 Replies

With Nokia World 2011 coming around the corner, Nokia Conversations published a post on Nokia World 1867 (yes, 18-67), trying to see what the first ever Nokia World must have been like.

They’ve done a bit of research and have come up with an account from an agent who had attended a new factory at a top secret briefing at NW1867.

Check out their account on what NokConv thought it would have looked.

Oh, and hopefully we can come to Nokia World 2011 to bring you some live news from the show floor. For anyone who has ever attended, it is just the best time ever for a Nokia fan. New devices, product manager sessions, hands on, new stuff from the labs, free food, the EPIC Nokia party and of course, getting to meet the Nokia related personalities, be they Nokia staff, WOMWorld folk, or other Nokia bloggers.

I’m oddly free during that week, but I have a suspicion that the Uni is running a hospital placement week (being in Med school). Whilst I may not be there myself, we’ll still cover it and find some way to get some hands on :) .

Are you going to Nokia World 2011? What are you most looking forward to?

    • DOSTANA says:

how to get an invite to “NOKIA WORLD 2011″ JAY MONTANO!!! Please respond….?

    • Ninja says:

      +1

Entrance is “only” 995 Euros! Or is there a show apart from the conference, that is cheaper to get into?

I suppose some of it will be streamed online of course.

    • Jay Montano says:

Hi, sorry, the post was not supposed to be about getting invitation. I did not realise the image selector chose that as the home page thumbnail (it is meant to pick the first post).

As for invites, I’m not sure how they work, but I think you get them from Nokia or related media folk. If you have an online presence/audience/blog/or a developer I think you may get to go. It would be cool if they had a sign up process like the ‘old’ Maemo summits, but I guess that is mostly for developers. Folks coming to these things brought as media have to provide something back.

    • DroidUser999 says:

  7. Matias says:

Jay, dude, c’mon! You’ll have plenty of time to do some petty hospital shifts, but you’ll never know when you’ll be invited to Nokia World the next time! My advise; skip school and drool over the fresh-out-of-oven Nokia goodies ;)

    • Jay Montano says:

Sorry, my priority is to my education. I do what I can here to blog but I have to make sure it doesn’t severely interfere with Uni. Plus skipping uni for this without permission (and this is not grounds for it) goes on permanent record.

when I was invited to Nokia Developer Summit 08′ I had the same dilemma. The event happened the same week I had my final exams (Med school too) So I just talked with my profesors and they agreed to give me the examen a week earlier, I had to study for all my subjets, but finally managed to aprove all of them and make the best trip of my whole life. I even managed to finish the school with the second best grade of my gen.

So my advice Jay, is that dont let oportunities like these slip. We are all young, so let’s live! Im sure your professors can make a deal with you if you tell them how you wuold like to assist.

Friend of mine got three invites last year, sadly not transferable… Got one again this year… It pays to be a developer…

  9. Nokia Fan says:

    O Gosh,

Just finished watched Apple iTalk, what an revolutionary improvements by Apple.

Its called iPhone 4S pronounced iPhone for Assesssss..

  10. Cod3rror says:

    Pfff… who cares?

    iPhone just killed Nokia. Again.

iPhone 4S’ camera will out do the N8.

Then on the 11th Android and Samsung will kill Nokia.

Nokia is finished and no one cares, accept it.

    • Jay Montano says:

“Nokia is finished and no one cares, accept it.”

      Apparently you still care.

      • a3x says:

Of course he does. He’s a Nokian.

And sorry to burst your bubble my dear Cod3rror, but the N8 camera still outperforms the iPhone 4S “newly” and “magical” camera. Apparently you’re missing the important point of Nokia being the best camera phone manufacturer in the world.

Cod3rror as far as I know, you’re an N8 owner, so you should still feel proud about it.

    • Rock says:

Well it clearly doesn’t. They add a lot of post effects to the images aswell.

Stop making stupid points please, your beginning to lose your touch.
