| October 25, 2011 | Comments (21)

Here’s a video showing what to expect at Nokia World 2011. Apparently we’re going to find out ‘messaging’ and see the ‘really sexy new devices’ as well as seeing Nokia’s partners and what they’ve done on the Windows Platform.

Reggie Hutcherson oversees the developer engagement programs at Nokia for Windows Phone, and he recently sat down with us to provide his insights about what developers can expect to see at Nokia World next week in London. In short, he calls it “the beginning of a new era”.

This is going to be very disappointing event for Nokia fans.

    • sk says:

      Is there any n8 successor?

      • dsmobile says:

What I have seen so far, NO.

I can be wrong but I still think there is not much to see with new devices. Only searay that is for Microsoft fans.

      • Shriek says:

Even if there is a N8 successor they will probably sabotage it like they did with the N9.

I really doubt they would they would announce it during the Nokia World as well, it would steal the Windows Phone Thunder.

Maybe the N8 sucessor would come out with the next symbian update, you know the one starting with C. Hopefully it’ll be full Swipe like the N9 and have a great camera.

  2. yemko says:

I feel like crying for Nokia, maybe yemko will end up as Apple fanboy

    • dsmobile says:

Apple is going to copy Swipe UI and Design from N9. So you are right there will be more customers for apple in near future.

Nokia had it but they blew it and Apple will take the lead with their new invention swipe ui. :)

      • kazord says:

totaly agree apple is a stealer and a so good idea would be take even if nokia copyright

      • Ninja says:

You realise that Apple have been paying good money to license swipe stuff from Nokia for some time now, and also made that huge one off payment of what was it $600 million+ ? earlier this year.

Nokia owns swipe, and Apple is Nokia’s bitch, I’m pleased to tell you :)

      • Michael Faro-Tusino says:

People have already been making swipe style UI using several apps on the iPhone

  3. Faab says:

Hmmhm, he keeps saying that we will see devices, plural. Hope it’s more than 2. :D

  4. vladest says:

microsoft, microsoft, microsoft….what about Nokia? Is it Nokia world, or microsoft?
how about engaging Qt developers? where is Qt for WP?

  5. XFCE-Desktop says:

I don’t like the American military style.

  6. gjggj says:

we can just the fate of nokia tomorrow

  7. ssdh says:

So, essentially, what he’s saying s Nokia’s back to zero in terms of being a part of an ecosystem, so they have to again, court and educate developers about their new platform choice…

  8. Doffen says:

Looks like it will be more about MS than Nokia. Wonder if Nokia will present some interesting hardware news at all. The WP phones are all ready leaked and are nothing special except for the beautiful exterior design. The software news i guess will be more oriented against possibilities for a lockin than anything else. Even a golden cage is no place to be.
