Sadly the Lumia IS NOT Indestructible (Not For the Faint-Hearted)

| December 17, 2011 | 15 Replies

Okay I might be over-exaggerating, but it’s painful to see a device this beautiful flawed and cracked… As we’ve seen across the interweb the Lumia 800 has survived quite aggressive scratch tests and even a fall from a two story balcony. What finally brought down the 800 from the land of immortals (for the record not a bad movie) to equal terms with all other mortal phones we will never know (Unless that Chinese? Korean? written down has something to do with it). Either way be careful out there with your N9s/800s no need for any un-necessary Blood  err Glass-Shed.

You can break every glass by hitting with certain force and angle in the edge. This has happened here, obviously. I just wonder how she/he has managed as the glass is curved and the edge almost hidden.

Wish they could produce something as beautiful as the n9 but robust like the n8(well at least mine is)

You want to scratch ur gorilla glasses? Walk with some sand crystals and ur phone together. My e7 has little scratch twirls in 3 places on the screen

First the SMS bug, now screen cracking… Man, Lumia just can’t have a break (sic!)… /s /flamebait

The language displayed on that phone is Chinese. As for where that owner of this phone is from, I suspect he/she could either be from Hong Kong or Singapore.

Speaking of broken phones, I recall a friend of mine who told me of somebody who threw his phone unto a wall with such force until it didn’t work. Couldn’t even switch it on after that. Makes me wonder how irresponsible/indifferent people can be when it comes to treating their own property.

Nokia did promoted the 800 for having a premium service if anything goes wrong. Is that service still running? Honestly, I’m appaled how this could actually happened. I bet my life that it’s a lemon, but it’s still dissapointing.

this is what happens when you copy a design…….things go bad to worse
exposing the glass like that + the curve have a higher chance of breaking

that why i like the N8,E7 cause of the rim around the screen
the screen is pushed in a bit just like the 5800 design

i remember i dragged my phone and she screen didn’t get touched cause of the rim round the screen

Well, that happened to me yesterday. It was a fall from the car seat to the floor. And I don’t drive a monster truck…
Now that is done, does anyone know where I can find a website that sells the screen? Could I replace with a N9 screen?
