Invincible Nokia strikes Reddit front page again

Hey, remember that front page post on Reddit about the invincible Nokia breaking the floor? Since then it’s exploded into a wordwide meme associating Nokia with some sort of invincibility. Well the older products anyway (though their newer ones are more robust than the average from competitors).

Here it is again on Reddit.

Perhaps Nokia should take this opportunity to piggyback on the internet community meme and revive their deathly robust ranges. They could play on the meme of dropping the Nokia and other things breaking as a joke. There’s a lot of good responses when organizations seem to understand memes. Like Virgin Media UK and  their Success Kid. They seem to be companies you can relate to as they understand what’s popular here and now. But the key is timing and not over doing it and since there’s probably not a rugged Nokia in the works it’s probably not a good idea.

What’s quite disturbing is some comments going, “I didn’t know your Nokia had a camera” when you guys obviously know the phone that MADE camera phones popular, the seller of most cameras, the one that is making the best quality photos, the one that will whoop everyone’s asses all over again at MWC, is Nokia. This is the kind of ignorance to the brand Nokia has to address. Do some test with the camera, prove it as being the best camera phone again and display that in adverts everywhere like before but bolder. “Best Camera Phone. Fact”. Eyes are on Nokia, and Nokia has to impress. Break this impression that apparently Nokias are old or outdated.  They aren’t all just the clunky monochrome or first gen colour screens or the slower S60s from the past.
