Hello Future, 1.4Gbps with Nokia Siemens Networks and LTE Advance

I was browsing Reddit front page and lo and behold another Nokia article. But it’s not the Invincible Nokia Meme. It’s actual Nokia news – well Nokia Siemens Networks. At MWC they showed the future of LTE-Advanced, hitting, wait for it, 1.4 Gbps.

Nokia seems to have a thing for 1 and 4 to wow us all. It’s a shame the PureView article didn’t make Reddit – especially after the naivete of some to say Nokia’s don’t even have cameras.

LTE-A might come to USA next year but Stefan reckons perhaps in 2 years. Stefan asks, what the hell are you going to do with 1.4Gbps on your phone. I think that’s what people also said about 3G.  There’s a great reply by Omar Moya

Moya says it’s not about bandwidth per person, but cell capacity. Right now we’re hearing how data plans are changing because more people are on them and making it slower so there are limits being set up or prices increasing as the infrastructure catches up to the level of users.
