Video: Nokia Lumia advert for Harvey Norman

Here’s an advert by Harvey Norman (a major retailer in Australia) for the Nokia Lumia 710 (800 shown at the end). There’s quite a bit of reality here with the scene acknowledging people moving from Nokia and being nostalgic about it. “I used to love my Nokia…”

I think this advert is very down to earth. It shows a potential, real every day problem and then shows how a particular product they’re promoting can solve that. Nothing else matters. Show the phone, show it in use, show how certain particular features can add to someone’s every day life, because of this particular phone. In this instance, it’s the Nokia Lumia.

The only beef would be perhaps to mention Nokia Lumia? Or perhaps is it a good thing that this is the new image of ‘Nokia’ as opposed to what is implied at the beginning ‘old nostalgia’.
