Nokia Malaysia hinting at 4.5″ Nokia Lumia?
For a long time since last year, I’ve heard rumours from various sources about a possible 4.5″ Lumia. The closest we’ve come to so far is the 4.3″ Nokia Lumia 900.
4.5″ is big but it isn’t too big, with 4.8″ and 5.4″ proving popular too (from ‘other’ manufacturers), so 4.5″ is very realistic. (I’d like something bigger).
Anyway, it seems that Nokia Malaysia are also hinting about 4.5″ coming soon. In a recent poll, they seem to have produced a poll asking about screen size preference. Two options are already available. 3.7″ (Nokia Lumia 610/710/800) and 4.3″ (900). However, 4.5″ is not yet a Lumia screen size.
There are also possible options of either smaller screen than 3.7″ or a larger screen than 4.5″. That’s what I would want for me. I want a phablet.
Currently however, 4.3″ is winning it for Nokia Malaysia fans, though 4.5″ is a close second with a significant third place for bigger than 4.5″.
Cheers @rollakid for the tip!
Thanks @rollakid for the tip

It’s not 4.5 it is 4, 5 which means either 4 or 5…
I think it’s just a typo. The tweet is here https://twitter.com/nokiamy/status/237718183472148480
It’s the festive seasons in Malaysia now, I wouldn’t be surprise to see a typo or two. Everyone’s in holiday mood haha.
Sigh… better get to work now holiday’s over…
What is it with people and big sizes. What about a happy middle ground of just 4.0? I don’t want a Nokia Lumia phablet @_@
Indeed. I’d also like to see 4.0″ phone. Not really keen on carrying anything bigger screened phone in my pocket. I’ve wondered that a lot why people nowadays seem to be so much into bigger phones, do they really know how huge Galaxy S3 or even worse, the Notes are?
a familly of devices with 4 inch-4,5 inch-5 inch screens all with the same specs, minus the screen resolution, just like the l800 and l900. i don’t want to see a 4 inch device with 5 mp camera 8gb of storage and a underclocked processor and keep all the good stuff for the bigger sizes
I agree with ya. I’m hoping for a 4inch screen windows 8 handset. I don’t wanna have a feeling that I’m carrying a gameboy in my pocket. Plus the pocket bulge is a distraction for me. I also jog with my phone as my mp3 player, big phones just get in the way.
Though of course there’s also a market for big phones.
I don’t know about that I saw a girl looking at my big phone, I guess she saw the bulge in my pants, when I whipped it out she said wow, my boyfriends is so tiny, its less than 4 inches. I was like what can I say , some people got it like that, so she said can I touch it, I was like go ahead baby, then she said if feels so big in my hands, then I said well some like it big and some like tiny, me im a big man so natural mines gonna be big, plus I have big fingers, so if I grab it or try to use it it has to be big , be sides my girl friend just loves it, nokia phi or what ever it gonna be called for me. By current one the lumia 900, my girls says she cant get enough of it, she always wants it, soon she get her pink one the maybe she let me touch it, but then again maybe shell wait till win phone 8 come out, the we both can have some fun.
4,5Inch is general size for a smartphone now and Nokia should make one
4.3″ is 2011 trend.4.7-5.5″ is trending in 2012.
i wonder whether we need to carry a backpack for our phone in 2015.
Nice one. I burst out with laughter.
I’m a Malaysian.I prefer 4.5″ .That great if Nokia make a big screen lumia phone
The N9 should be the reference design in terms of size. Its nearly perfect..
Watch the new iPhone 5 .. it will be very close to the N9 size wise, at least Apple know what they are doing, even when they are copying..
I have this believe that Android manufacturers have to make bigger phones to fit the bigger batteries they’re stuffing into their phones. Without the bigger batteries, I am pretty sure the SGS III would fail to last for more than 8hrs unless 3g & data are totally off.
Now, if WP8 is frugal on power consumption, I’m sure Nokia don’t have to go down that route. But if they do kudos to them for having longer battery life.
But knowing Nokia…… naah..
a bigger screen with higher resolution (most of the time) would mean more power sucked by the screen and gpu
The problem with large (>4in) but thin phones is that they tend to easily slip out of dress/office pants pockets! Don’t know about others, but i’d prefer a slightly smaller (4in or less), ‘chunky’ phone than a lost one!
whatever the size noone is interested
I’d only want a 4.5″ screen if it’s not AMOLED. Pentile is horrible with Metro.
