Infographic: Why people switch to Lumia

| August 21, 2012 | 50 Replies

We got an email from Katie of 1000Heads/WOM/NC who shares this infographic about the recent campaign ‘Why people switch to Lumia’. You may have seen a couple of videos earlier showing two folks switching from a BlackBerry and a Moto.

This time, NC asked the community why they switched and that’s presented as the infographic above.

We recently asked the twitter community why they switched to Lumia and the response was overwhelming! We put together an infographic (see attached) based on the feedback and as you can see, it gave us some pretty interesting results :)

Thanks Katie!

    Infographic is so true.
I tweeted about best build quality, smoothest performance even in multitasking, best
    design, best applications, Nokia Navigation,
    best camera.

Why dont they try to find an infographic about:
Why Symbian users DO NOT switch to lumia???

I guess we all know the answer!!!

  3. technology should be for all..It should be competitive in all respect and generalised.

I switched to the N9. Problem Microsoft?

What is this Jersey shore? Calm down Vinny

MS? It’s a great thing for Nokia, that’s the positive you should be looking at…
If it does okay (despite everything), then “LT” they MAY have a crack at doing their own OS/platform again.

      • jiipee says:

daydreaming. There is no need for Nokia to do their own OS again. If there are open OS that are finished, spreading fast and with good ecosystem, they could jumo onboard. It would take ages from Nokia to gather the competence again – even buying out a dev company would not be enough.

  5. San loco says:

This is just people who already follow the Nokia twitter tag, right? Not so interesting unless it was generic poll of anyone with lumia

  6. viktor von d. says:

they should just wait to gain more marketshare before doing these campaigns. i doubt anyone who sees this will say they want a lumia. the only people seeing this is the people who already have one, or who read blogs, and that isn’t a large number. pointless imo.

Aside from the 3/6 reasons why I switched to the Lumia (which is Love for Nokia, For the unique design and bored of other smartphones), another reason is because I want to get my hands on one since I’ve been using budget to mid-range phones for a few years. Just chalk it down to wanting a change. ;)

  8. DesR85 says:

I didn’t say or hinted that. Just pointing out that there are Symbian users who made the switch, regardless if it is mentioned on the net or outside of it.

  9. N9 < LUMIA 610 says:

Switch from Symbian to lumia and won’t look back ever.

What fun in the caboose! People usually break out from jails, these ones’ want to go to jail. Talk about reverse jailbreak! LOL!

i hate all of ms, apple, and google, they are symbol of capitalism, but i prefer google as lesser evil, i never pay anything to google, just receive ad-ware, while ms sucks my $200 every time i purchase a pc, for windows & office suite

  12. JGsmartypants says:

Capitalism enabled these people to create something from nothing and improve our lives in the process. Or would you rather be queuing for bread rations?

  13. Grendell says:

By the information provided it seems a base number of 71.3 % of those surveyed would have also probably switched to the N9 if it had not been EOLed and assuming it came out in the same price points and sizes. With some cannibalization in other areas to probably push it up some. I could be wrong though, havent seen the actual questions and phrasing of the survey.

  14. Bob says:

I think they need to concentrate on why the other 95% wont switch :)

With regards to Nokia Care – this would be a reason I would NOT switch to Nokia. Used to be great, now abysmal (many outlets closed – phones now have to be posted etc.).

Just had my 3 week old Lumia 900 repaired under warranty (faulty speaker) – took 1 month for Nokia Care to turn around! 1 month without a phone! At one point the package got lost in the post (which Nokia Care – Service Desk in India – refused point blank to cover, or follow up, even though it was under their postage! They effectively washed their hands off the entire issue!). Thankfully the phone luckily, eventually, got back to me. I would be VERY nervous using Nokia in the future incase I had any warranty/device issues.

what a desperate marketing by nokia!

you can easily make symbian users swtich by just customising the wp8 ui/ux. no more back button and search button, they are replaced by call and end buttons instead.

    Useless statistics.

The source are the followers of nokia-tweet so this is not representative. These followsers have already a special relationship to nokia otherwise they wouldnt follow nokia-tweet.
