Screenshots – Nokia Belle Refresh for C7 (v111.040.1511.)
The author of the source tipped us on finding some screenshots of the Nokia Belle Refresh on Nokia RDA. There’s been much rumour that Belle FP1 for version 1 Symbian^3 handsets – or Belle Refresh is coming soon.

I don’t think so. IMHO “Belle refresh” is the FP1-version for the first S^3-gen. So it is related to Carla.
Donna (part of it) supposed to be FP2.

a bit disappointed that it doesn’t have the new keyboard. maybe the modders can port it like they did with the new taskmanager from FP1.

Looks old compared to iOS!? iOS looks have never changed. It looks like it was designed in 1995. iOS is the most old fashioned and boring looking of them all. Though not the most ugly. That title belong to WP.
basically it’s just an updated browser, music player and more widgets. it still says 111.***.**** in the firmware version, no one should expect UI changes tbh.

Yeah with Android you need a new phone if you want a big update.. They don’t bring big feature upgrades to most of the old models.
S^3 -> Anna bigger update
Anna -> Belle bigger update
Belle -> FPx smaller updates
The screenshots are quite bad.. I think it doesn’t show anything new for example I think FP1 had a new media player UI or something like that I’ve seen in some other screenshots.

Nokia Pure sans another great Nokia asset thrown to the trash bin.
There is a Font changer App you can use.. I had one on N8 and E7.. Should be OK for Belle too.
Is that where the store app breaks if you change the font ? If you’re into that kind of thing, go read the Qt bugtracker about what it took to add new fonts to Symbian, especially fonts dynamically loaded through CSS (@font tag).
i just hope they add multitouch to keyboard, that’s all. because i type a lot on my phone when using skype.
just one question – what char to put first if you’ll press 2 buttons simultaneously?
You never press 2 buttons simultaneously. When you type fast, sometimes you already press next button before you release previous. And when keyboard supports mutlitouch then both are registered, and when keyboard doesn’t support it – only second is registered. So mutlitouch keyboard is much better.
I do like the software refresh but it would be better appreciated if Nokia could give us newer models with faster processors on Symbian… i am talking dual cores not even thinking about quad cores.
Maybe clear some of those Symbian myths before dying.
I don’t think there will be any other Symbian handset after the 808. It’s all WP/S40 now.

we get symbian Carla
then we get symbian Donna
after that we get Symbian Eloped

What about Belle FP2? As a 808 owner, can’t wait for it anymore! So impatient!:-D
I think Nokia will be unveiling it come Nokia world, just so that they have “something new” to tell people about symbian.

i think this is the version taylor used for his cfw since april lol..,but it’s still 11v and not 12 so th ey are just fixes and tweeks and some added appkications
By the time they release this hobbled FP1-lite release, second-gen devices will get FP2. That means no new keyboard, no new system apps, just little updates that took SIX freaking months to do.
Why the hell couldn’t Nokia/Accenture have just rolled FP2 into this FP1-lite? I don’t buy the bullshit that first-gen devices didn’t have enough RAM or processing power to handle the full FP1 update…
I could live with the decision not to bring full FP2 to first gen simply because they are mean, or lazy, or to few, but not for some technical pseudo excuse

I think the biggest problem for the N8 is the 512MB ROM. I agree with you that they can probably run full FP1 on the other first gen devices, but do they want to leave the N8 behind ?
Oh… The same sluggish and old WRT based Nokia Social… That’s a shame…
It’s been two years since the N8′s initial release and the same damned things haven’t been fixed.
That slow steaming pile of WRT junk that is Social, the craptastic email client that only supports one Exchange account and can’t even do copy/paste, no email notifications… I could go on and on. So I won’t
I wonder if Nokia had so many engineers working on fixing Symbian’s OS-level bugs that they forgot to have people work on system apps.
i like 41mp pureview so bad but hate wp8/9/10….

Hope they fix FP1/Refresh properly for the E6, unlike the Belle fiasco! Still using Anna on mine, and don’t see myself upgrading unless they fix the issues!
Is there any release date for first S^3 devices. We are expecting big UI changes and big upgradation in future
