Lumiappaday #284: Mayan Calendar demoed on the Nokia Lumia 900

This app is called Mayan Calendar. The developer contacted us a couple of weeks ago about their app. Not sure exactly what I’d do with it but in the video you can see what it does.

There’s a countdown to what some believe is the ‘end of the world’. The app explains that’s merely the end of a ‘calendar’. There’s a nice little wheel calendar which I don’t particularly understand.

Developer Blurb:

Mayan Calendar with countdown to December 21, 2012 that marks the end of the 13th Baktun cycle.

Some people consider this date to be the beginning of the Golden Age. With this small app you keep an eye on this important day. The current date is shown using glyphs as found on ancient Maya temples.

– Explore the Mayan Calendar in an interactive way by spinning the calendar wheel.
– Learn about the twenty day symbols of the tzolk’in calendar.
– Get inspired by the “Quote of the Day”.
