Video: Nokia Lumia 900 vs iPhone 5

Here’s a video comparing the Nokia Lumia 900 against the iPhone 5.

User experience, whilst on different UI have similar performances. The efficient WP7.5 on single core being as nippy as the dual core A6 on the iPhone 5. Purple fringing is noted on the 900. I heard that was a similar purple flare issue with the iPhone 5? Battery life on the 900 is apparently better than the iPhone 5.

Surprisingly the Nokia Lumia 900 holds quite well against the new iPhone 5. However, I’d recommend any potential buyer interested in the 900 to wait a little bit longer for the Nokia Lumia 920. If PhoneArena gives this sort of review right now for the 900, then they’re surely going to love the 920. The 900 is cheaper at 50USD on contract, vs 200USD for the iPhone. This pricing may be closer to iPhone with iP5.

i dont trust these guys why in lumia video there is car pass behind and iphone video there is no car pass. it look like they take it different time to favor iphone 5.

by the way lumia 900 is good phone for $50 than that icrap 5

    • Chris says:

I get the same feeling. I’m not sure if I’m the biased one or the video is really biased towards Apple.

      1. I didn’t hear any mentions of the 920 in the video. An average person will treat this video as iphone vs Lumia, and they’ll think “oh, the lumia has some strong points but overall the iphone is better”. While there’s no lies in the video, it’s sort of like take things out of context to mislead the general public.

      2. “Proprietary” connector versus “Traditional” connector? Excuse me?? How about being fair and says the pros and cons of proprietary vs universal?

      /rant

That said, Nokia need to release the 920 asap :/ and at a reasonable price (I’d pay for the technology, but I won’t pay for a brand/badge)

LOL. Nokia Lumia 900 is nowhere near the performance of the iPhone 5. Lumia 900 is even behind the iPhone 4S and all Android phones on benchmark tests. And the iPhone 5 is the current performance champion, being 4x faster than iPhone 4S and besting all quadcore Droids.

    • dss says:

      Actually, you are wrong.

      • keist says:

Search all the benchmark tests done with the Lumia 900 and it always came last on those tests.

        • migo says:

Benchmark tests don’t matter, unless you’re testing battery life. Otherwise, an HTML5 Acid test is relevant too, and that’s where WP fails miserably. iOS4 has a better browser than WP7.5.

    • Mark says:

Except on Geekbench it doesn’t once the production units were tested.

Also, as shown in the video, it doesn’t make a difference to the punter.

The iPhone 5 is nice if a little bring and disappointing though.

  3. dss says:

What’s amazing here is that even if they offered the 900 for free and the iPhone @ $300 .. the iphone would still sell better.

Its not looking good for the 920 launch, they need to price that thing very low.

    • keist says:

The Lumia 920 is up for preorder already at 800 dollars.

      • dss says:

I meant on contract here in the USofA. I have no idea how they plan on selling it for over $600 .. unless they plan on not selling that many 920s .. but, I don’t dunno..

HTC would always undercut the price point.. and then you have Samsung, who has the ability to do the same, since they manufacture a lot of their own parts, including the screens, which tend to be an expensive component.

Microsoft better pinch in some cash to subsidize the 920/820 .. if needed.

I really hope the Nokia brand still has some weight behind it.. which I believe it does, I just hope its enough to push them trough.

  4. Mutumba says:

windows phone is just amazing.. the A6 chip with ios6 os just as good as a single core chip with wp7 (imagine it was a dual core wp8)

  5. Shanku says:

    ‘Better looking design’ ? Seriously?

  6. chucky says:

They are comparing it to the 900 because the IPhone 5 has no chance against the 920 .

  7. Sonny says:

Dont you guys know? That site is known as iphonearena! They basically compare every new phone against the iphone and still find a way to say the iphone is better. All their symbian related news, doesnt matter if its something awesome the news is they always say somthing negative about nokia and symbian! Gsmarena is the only site that seems fair to me
