Technical Specifications: Nokia Lumia 810 vs Nokia Lumia 820

What’s the deal with the newly announced Nokia Lumia 810 for T-Mobile? Is that just the 820 in black?

No they’re actually very different.  The 820 is rounder at the side. The 810 is a little bit like the old N82, but super sleek – flat sides rounded back.

Dimensions and weight are different:

  • 810: 10.9 x 127.8 x 68.4 mm, 145g
  • 820: 9.9 x 123.8 x 68.5 mm, 164g

Talk time is apparently 10.5h on the 810 whilst 7.5h on the 820.

The screen part confuses me as Janne was having a conversation with DKM about 810 also having super sensitive screen like the 820. This could simply be an error whilst I’m viewing the page because under ‘flash’ it says short pulse LED for the 820 and it’s blank for the 810. But the 810 also has LED flash. Same for the browser portion. IE10 for 820, blank for 810.

The developer page of the tech specs may be more helpful.

Hattip to Janne!

  1. All About Windows Phone says the 810 has 16GB of storage. No mention of micro SD card slot. Rafe confirms in the comments the 810 has super sensitive touch.

Now I’m seeing that limited list for the 810 as well in Display features, just like on your screenshot. I am on a different network now though if that matters in the proxy sense of the word.

Yesterday it was showing a clone of the 820 list for Display features, just like I copy pasted directly from the browser (it wasn’t showing a clone in the other lists, like software and dimensions, so it wasn’t the wrong comparison I was viewing).

We’ll just have to wait and see how the list shapes up.

Nokia should claim “the thinnest smartphone in the world” title 810: 0.9 x 127.8 x 68.4 mm, 145g

  4. Janne says:

Historically speaking, when this URL pops up:

    http://www.developer.nokia.com/Devices/Device_specifications/Lumia_810/

That will be the definite specsheet. The specs on the PR sites have always been far less trustworthy.

  5. tech says:

why t-mobile never get an hight end Lumia device?

  6. Janne says:

Looking at the specsheet now, it is so incomplete – missing A LOT of stuff that we know is there – that I wouldn’t place any weight on it as it is. The 810 might very well have many of the missing things.

it looks a lil like iphone 5
    * i’m not apple fanboy

  8. JGrove303 says:

The desciption given by the US Marketing president states a monoblock chassis. So, it doesn’t have a battery door. Those wireless charging covers jusy pop over the 810, not switch off. Tje test of the device is all sa,e as 820, sans the LTE radio.

This is an exclusive repackage, differentiating an otherwise identical device. Samsung did it with the Galaxy S in the States. AT&T’s Captivate, T-Mobile’s Vibrant, Sprint’s Epic and Verizon’s Fascinate were Galaxy S, with differenent shells to look different and get around exclusive deals.

Expect verizon’s variant to look diffetent, too, and be packed to the gills woth bloatware.

i hope that with nokia bringing out different models, 810,820,822, it may mean that they are manufacturing these devices in different factories and so there should be ample availability, so maybe sales volume will be good this last quarter.

  10. Silthice says:

Nokia should have made only 820 exclusive to AT&T so that 920 can be grab from any networks…

  11. Vali says:

I love the old school design, even more than the 820

  12. Viipottaja says:

You know, whoever (whether it be the PR department, Web maintenance guys or the guys that keep them wrong/fuzzy specs to begin with) is to blame for this amazing continued confusion on the tech specs needs a good hard spanking (unless that person happens to enjoy that, in which case some other form of punishment might be needed)…

No-one has ever cared about you and no-one ever will. You’re a sad speck of dirt on the fingernail of humanity, merely there to be flicked away like the nothing you are and always will be.

I’m surprised you continue to breathe. Not that anyone would notice if you didn’t.

” You’re a sad speck of dirt on the fingernail of humanity”

        LOL, I love that one…

Oh and yep, couldn’t agree more! Why bitch and moan about Nokia in such camp fashion on a Nokia fan site like MNB?

        Lonely: He must be…
Empty: I think it has to be…
Believes in God: Probably and hates him instead of himself for the fist two points…

No one is going to go out of their way to touch him, not even with a ten foot pole… He screams desperado milkshakes…

  14. Waqas Ahmad Khan says:

Apple should sue Nokia for steeling iphone’s design.

  15. migo says:

Sad thing with Nokia’s developer page is they’ve got things wrong before, so you can never trust the specs until someone knowledgeable has tested it.

  16. VIP says:

    810 looks like my N82 =]
