Nokia Lumia 822 for Verizon swans into FCC?

| October 14, 2012 | 8 Replies

Engadget has spotted the RM-845 which they reckon is the Nokia Lumia 822 for Verizon (as it has  Verizon’s CDMA and LTE bands). The 822 is currently not yet officially announced (though the 810 for T-Mobile is).

Note the MicroSD slot as with the 820.

Skype is finally available for the 808 on Nokia Store. Don’t think Video Call is available though (fail).

It’s Sunday! You guys might like the Saturday Night Live skit last night about the iPhone 5 and tech blogs

It’s a skit saying that anyone complaining about the New new from Apple is a blaspheming infidel whiner. Get with the program, you sleazy tech reviewers. Apple is perfection, so shut up already.

      • shallow ocean shoal says:

Haha, umm, I’m not sure that was what they were aiming for. I take it you are living in a 1st world economy.

It was pointing out the dichotomy between people who live in luxury and are able to make a living by writing about things like scratches on their phone, to the people living in poverty who make it.

Or, more simply, 1st world problems vs. 3rd world problems.

        • Andrew_b says:

Haha umm, I take it you must be living in the USA then. The headline disparity between the two camps was blindingly obvious, given it was beaten to death by the sketch – that was the ‘in your face’ irony driving the humour. The underlying message was that there isn’t anything really wrong with the New new. It’s pro-apple from where I’m sitting.

          • shallow ocean shoal says:

            Wow, must be nice!

I can tell you one thing – the people who wrote that probably don’t even know what a “Lumia” is.

Enjoy living on the backs of others.

And I suppose you thought Animal Farm was a fantasy book about talking animals, agriculture and livestock?

You don’t know anything about me, or my views. I can assure you, I’m no free market capitalist by a long chalk. The global economy is far more complex than it first appears and it is too simplistic to just think that factory workers in China are being exploited by consumers buying iPhones in America et al.

So called ‘first world’ consumers who now struggle to buy food and pay their energy bills have been exploited for decades by a growth-driven market economy which brainwashes them to desire a gadget they don’t need and can’t realistically afford, marketed and priced artificially high to support the concept of that very desire in itself, whilst maximising unearned income for the financial elite.

The sketch had nothing to do with a story about the Nokia 822 and you randomly posted a link to it. Setting aside the question of who is exploiting who, the sketch is still pro Apple. It trivialises emerging complaints from bloggers about the supposedly ‘perfect’ product by questioning their values. It consequently scorns any iSheep having the audacity to complain about their new shiny-shiny. It supports Apple, it helps them.

Despite what you Mom told you, eating up all of your greens won’t help the millions starving in Africa one iota.
