For anyone who hasn’t heard of it (highly unlikely) Utorrent is the torrent file sharing program, and everyone’s favorite. The official remote control app is now available in the marketplace (beta 1.0) that gives you control over your Home client of uTorrent, allowing you to add, remove, pause, start stop… any torrent file on our home PC or MAC securely and wirelessly over the web.

Secure remote access to µTorrent from anywhere. µTorrent Remote Beta is part of the latest µTorrent for Windows and Mac. This Windows Phone app securely connects to your home computer from anywhere you have an internet connection. Use µTorrent Remote to add, remove, start, stop torrents and check download progress of all your torrents. Check your RSS feeds and start downloads on the go. Use your mobile browser to find torrents and they will automatically be added to your home µTorrent! Completed downloads can even be shifted directly back to your Windows device for local playback.

Get it at the marketplace here: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/%C2%B5torrent-remote/6f626785-a6f6-4913-ab0c-ae8b67ced086

Whats the point of having an app for something that could be archived with utorrents webinterface?

    • Aliqudsi says:

I wasn’t aware you could do those through the web; but either way same reason there are apps for IMDB, Google Search, Gmail and almost every single other app… just because :)

      • Patata says:

Guess its just my problem. i prefer “apps” that integrate into the os / ui as it is on Maemo for example.
I am not someone who wants an app for every single function / website. Specialy on wp… The applist isnt really that good to have it spammed with dozens of apps. Would be great to have folder support for the applist ;)

    • kornofilo says:

Based on that logic, half of the mobile apps shoulnt exist.

  2. Jens says:

Always says,”Account does not exist”. Also on web interface..
I did exactly what had to be done.. Chose your name + password / apply, keep torrent thing open, connect to it.. Anyone an idea how to resolve it ?
(Ofc I typed the username + password correctly)

    it look rather pretty.

  4. Vikas Patidar says:

    It’s µTorrent.

  5. incognito says:

This is not µTorrent client, it’s a remote interface in a form of an app. Call me when they actually start doing torrenting directly on the device.

    • Patata says:

Everyone knows that there won’t be a torrent client for wp. There is no file system access on unrooted wp devices and of course we can’t even download anything else than office documents, pdfs and pictures with the browser ;)

      • incognito says:

That’s why I said to call me once it’s available – then WP can at least be remotely useful despite its fugly UI.

remote accessing app? meh i was kind of interested when i thought it was a full blown client but hesitant due to microsofts spying eyes; now, knowing that its just a remote pfffff

  7. path finding PI says:

The point is that torrents leave traces in the net, so with this those will lead to a particular mobile. Nice idea! (for trace hunters)

    Enjoy your botnet.
