Weekend Watch: WP7.8 on Nokia Lumia 710?

| October 27, 2012 | 12 Replies

We’ve seen a video in the past of a hacked ROM supposedly bringing WP7.8 or at least the homescreen for it on the Nokia Lumia 710.

This 710 in the video below appears to be from a retail shop (as indicated by the security lock you might find in stores).

Note edge to edge resizable tiles that’s coming to both WP8 and WP7.8.

I think we will able to update to 7.8 on 30th october or so

I hope that it is possible, but I really doubt it. It could be possible that 7.8 might be mentioned at the WP8 launch on 29th October, but not too sure if Microsoft will want to do so considering their focus on the latter.

BTW I dont like the automatic avatar i’ve been given. . .how can i change it? :(

  3. The language from the video is Hungarian. I think this video was filmed at a Lumia Demo Day. Nokia hosts this kind of event in Romania and at the last one they showed us the 610 way before it was launched.

So how did a retail shop managed to get their hands on a unit running WP7.8? Haven’t heard much about it at all.

btw i’ve seen that wp7.8 on HTC HD2 ported, nice and smooth with upto 32gb storage…. Just sayin.

I notice that windows keys stop lighting if not used a few seconds. This is a different behaviour than in my lumia 800.
