Screen Shot 2013-03-06 at 18.14.35Yesterday you might have read the news that DISQUS has released an app for Windows Phone. Disqus is a commenting platform chosen my many blogs/sites online.

Somewhat more interesting is that some how there isn’t yet one for iOS or Android. You can pick this up here.

WPC says the app was developed in-house from the Disqus team and that there are currently no plans for an iOS or Android version (although they’ll probably defo come in time).

Ha, our Instagram! Apple users will bitch and not get the next iPhone because it doesn’t have a Disqus app.

This is definitely big news, a major app that’s come to Windows Phone first as an exclusive.

I think it’s very clear now that Windows Phone is the clear 3rd major mobile OS after Android and iOS at this point. I don’t think that Blackberry with BB10 will catch up.

Yep, according to Canaccord’s latest report, Nokia is now the 3rd biggest smartphone vendor in the U.S. of America. This is a huge improvement since OPK-times…

Ahead of HTC, ahead of Motorola, ahead of Blackberry, and it has been so for the past four months. (Just to be clear, this includes all smartphones, not just WPs)

      • correct says:

Indeed. Also one of Microsoft’s international head execs recently mentioned that Windows Phone exceeds total Blackberry market share of active devices in over 24 countries now.

      • Viipottaja says:

Indeed. Even though the numbers and share are tiny, it is still great progress and quite remarkable to see Nokia smartphones carried by 3 of the top 4 for carriers, with more models to come!

By the way guys, I know that this is not the proper topic to talk about this, but do you remember this one?

          mynokiablog.com/2012/08/26/concept-leak-fake-nokia-lumia-wp8-with-quadcore/

Could this be one of the rumoured metallic lumias? Or is this a completely faked design? It was advertised as a leak back then, but quickly forgotten after…

          • correct says:

That could be possible. Rumour was that Catwalk is supposed to bring an evolution of the Fabula design, with a more “squared off” look.

The leak/concept though looks a bit too square, I personally doubt that is the real thing. We shall see soon enough though.

          • Viipottaja says:

Iirc, it was confirmed to be just a concept of some design studio.

        • correct says:

Yes. It’s only a matter of time as well for Sprint to get Lumias. It likely won’t happen until the end of this year, or next year but soon enough Sprint will get it, although they will first be carrying HTC and Samsung WP devices.

Good , maybe it’s time Jay Montano used Discuss in the commenting system (I hate using google to look up my old comments and if they got answered or not. ) (Also the site needs a well deserved redesign. (Once I get to KSA again we might talk about me funding a redesign, which focuses on the Pure concept.)
