Quick comparison between the HTC One and Nokia Lumia 925.

Note, if mentioning marketing stuff like ‘ultrapixel’ for HTC, then might be fair mentioning ‘PureView’ for the 925, eh? Kudos on Basil for chatting about both devices on the fly though.

Nokia Lumia 925 performs better than the HTC One camera apparently. Just not as good as the Nokia Lumia 925.

What happens when Nokia unleashes the ORIGINAL PureView for Lumia? Uh HTC. I’m really looking forward to Smart Camera.

Sadly are a lot more brainwashed consumers out there thinking that an “ultra pixel” is different/better than a “mega pixel” than you can even guess!!! It drives me mad seeing the way the majority of our society think!

    • Ady

Typo: “thinks!”, “the majority THINKS!” :P

“Nokia Lumia 925 performs better than the HTC One camera apparently. Just not as good as the Nokia Lumia 925.” Does that sound right?

  • sbw44

Btw PhoneArena reviewed the 925 giving it a 7.8/10 less than the 920′s 9/10

    Reasons being:
    Poor call quality
    Weak loudspeaker
    Little customization options.

    • rockuz

The Verge gave the 925 with 8.1 rating, and it’s hard to believed coming from them.

    • myhairyid

Does that even make sense? I figured the customization options would be identical, unless the WP8 update removed some stuff?

      • MNhut

They must be referring to the lack of colors + nfc

        • Bassman

          The 925 has NFC.

          • MNhut

            I know, I mean not built-in.

            • Bassman

              NFC is built in.

            • Bassman

Do you mean wireless charging (which requires a wireless charging case)?

              • MNhut

My bad, I’m mixing things up ;)

                • Bassman

                  No worries :)

    • Bassman

As a 925 owner I would agree that the loudspeaker is not the loudest, but I disagree about call quality, which is excellent on my device and better than my N8.

  • MarceV1

Sorry, but aren’t those “ZOES” mentioned on the video, equivalent to cinemagraph?

  • v.s.i

Can’t wait for a conversation between Eos and One customers.

HTC owner: ‘I have a four ultrapixel camera.’
Nokia owner: ‘That’s cool, I also have a for… ..ty ..one megapixel camera.’
HTC owner: [crying, also for the stolen HAAC mics]

    • kishna6233

      hehee!

  • leon

Lumia 925 is better only in camera. HTC One is better in everything else. HTC One is the pinnacle of mobile phone evolution.

    • v.s.i

Suddenly, a wild HTC Butterfly S appeared.

The HTC Butterfly S uses microSD and 3200 mAh battery. It’s super effective!

There’s no such thing as ‘pinnacle of mobile phone evolution’.

      • v.s.i

Oh but who am I kidding, you’re just a disoriented troll that lacks self-confidence (so that’s why you need the ‘pinnacle of mobile phone evolution’, to fill up that empty place inside eh?). Shouldn’t have fed you. Next.

        • Ady

          ” B…But…I’ve just bought the One… last week… ! ! ! *sobs* “

        • leon

How many times blind Nokia fanboys referred a Nokia touchscreen phone to be the iPhone killer? I’ve always heard that since 5800. And in the end, it’s Symbian that got killed.

          • That was a random Noki

That only proves that Nokia was not able to deliver with Symbian based products. In the end Symbian was a disaster.

  • john

i would not buy neither phone but it seem htc one that review cant wait for eos i hope its water proof and has wysips solar power and ill buy that phone regardless of windows need for updates

    • Viipottaja

Well, at least WP has punctuation marks…

  • GordonH

Jay could you give us some decent comparison photos taken with the HTC one and the Lumia 925.
I know the Lumia 925 would beat the HTC one but I am certain that both the phones would give good quality “smartphone photos.”

    • Bassman

      Dripping with condescension…

      • GordonH

        Maybe ;-)

  • ms.nokia

I hate the metal chin and forehead on the HTC 1.

  • manu

    HTC One >> lumia 925.

  • eddie

The average(most people) person will buy one of the phone and never use half the stuff that’s in them trust me maybe not anyone here but outside of these blogs.

  • JGrove303

So and HTC One, an iPhone 5 and a Blackberry Z10 walk into bar…

  • http://www.htconecontractdeals.com Arman

The UltraPixel isn’t really as great as it has been made out to be by HTC. I’ve had the HTC One for a couple of months now and I’ve found the photos in daylight to be of average quality. Ofcourse it does very well during night time, but the way HTC had marketed the Ultrapixel thing, I was expecting much better results.
