Just the new Windows Phone software update for the Nokia Lumia 800.

A notification for an update was just pushed to my Nokia Lumia 800. This is most likely the update we were told about last week.
Just plug the Nokia Lumia 800 in to your PC and Zune will automatically begin the update (so  you can ignore some of my instructions about the update process)
Pretty much just wait for the update to be done and you might come to expect the following:
performance and usability enhancements  including:
- Charging improvements
- Voicemail notification improvement
- Replying to mail improved for Microsoft Exchange 2003 users
- Improved display switching in bright light
- Improved audio quality
Nokia had said that the update would have staggered availability (i.e. not simultaneous in all markets). Some may have received theirs already whilst others are still waiting to receive theirs.
As we mentioned:
There’s no sign here of WiFi Sharing which comes included anyway with the Mango update. Nokia said they were going to bring this in a software update. Perhaps this is coming in early 2012 as they note that, “a further update is planned for early 2012 to deliver more improvements to the software.â€
We’ll have to see if this charging improvement is the one that improves battery. I do hear that might be the next update but we’ll see. I’ll update this post with the version number when it’s done. I’m already on step 8 the time it has taken to post this.
OK the OS version is the same: 7.10.7740.16Â
The firmware revision number is different: 1600.2479.7740.11451 (from 1600.2475.7725.11414)Â This is most likely different depending on your country/network variants.
