According to a poll last week by Windows Phone fans on WPCenral, a whopping 82% of nearly 10,000 voters preferred the Nokia Lumia 920.

PureView, PureMotion HD+, Lumia design, Super Sensitive Screen, Clear Black technology, Wireless charging and Nokia exclusive apps.

Doing well against other Windows Phones is ok, but Nokia Lumia 920 needs to perform well against the other Non-WP competitors too, especially since WP is a much smaller market.

There are only online polls, but remember, Wired’s poll put the Nokia Lumia 920, 22,ooo votes (62%) above the nearest competitor, iPhone 5. This unfortunately is not how things will translate into sales. It would be awesome if that was the case, but how good a phone is does not equate to sales. Not always anyway. Also, phones that aren’t on sale, can’t generate sales! Strange concept, eh, Nokia/Microsoft?

It’s almost 1 year since the first Lumia was launched. There’s some small momentum going along with Nokia Lumia. Now with better hardware to exceed the competition in several places, a stronger ecosystem with more versatile software than before, Nokia Lumia could start becoming an even stronger, viable alternative to iPhone and Galaxy. We won’t probably ever get to cult status like the fans in the video below but as long as there’s a decent proportion of new, loyal, Nokia Lumia buyers, that’s what counts.

It’ll now rest a lot on Nokia’s efforts with carriers and the marketing to allow consumers to even be aware such innovative phones exist in the first place.

Cheers GS65 for the tip
