Video: Shake to Skip current song – demoed on Nokia N950 #MeeGo-Harmattan

Advertisements   I remember on Maemo 5 an app that used the accelerometer to control your music player. You could start/pause, skip and go back. I forgot the name. This was useful as you didn’t have to touch the screen and press a button. There’s a similar app on demo today to skip the current […]

On the weekend we saw what mobile YouTube looked like on the N950. With no Flash, desktop YouTube browsing was no longer an option (like on N900) with the default browser. Here’s a look at a dedicated YouTube App for MeeGo Harmattan called cuteTube. Video by marxianthecoder Cheers ssdh for the tip!

In this video, the Nokia N900 calls the MeeGo-Harmattan powered Nokia N950. Note that to accept a call, you swipe up the screen. Note the lock screen bouncing up and down to tell you this moves. Move it to answer the call. A little icon appears with the name of the person. Missed calls appear […]

Nelisquare built for Nokia N950 #MeeGo-Harmattan

Qt Guru, Tommi Laukkanen has just built Nelisquare – a foursquare app – for MeeGo-Harmattan N950. https://projects.developer.nokia.com/nelisquare “Built Nelisquare for N950. No portrait and virtual kb isn`t as smart as on Maemo or Symbian.https://projects.developer.nokia.com/nelisquare“ @tlaukkanen All of Tommi’s Qt apps have mentioned MeeGo for future compatibility so this really shouldn’t be all that surprising.  Also […]

Nokia N950 Video Samples – Low Light

ssdh has found some more video samples from the Nokia N950. Note that these developer samples have no bearing what so ever on what the N9 will produce. In fact, whilst N9 camera gets more tweaking, the N950 apparently not so. The N9 I believe has true widescreen (not cropped 4:3 to 16:9) and […]

So, one of the things the current browser on the MeeGo-Harmattan will not do is flash. You can get it via FireFox/Fennec I guess.  But how would videos work, such as those on YouTube? Well, the video player from the phone could open it up, like on many platforms now.  I wonder how it works […]
