Video: Vanilla MeeGo UI on HTC HD2
Recently we saw that the Windows Powered HTC HD2 had got some MeeGo loving on it.
Below you can see a video from psychochromatic. It’s early days yet, as the touch screen wasn’t even working at all to begin with. As posted before this is Vanilla MeeGo handset UI which will be different from Nokia one.
It’s odd but it sort of feels like the N97 when it’s seizing up. This is much faster of course on other hardware, like the N900 or even a tablet and hopefully just requires time to optimise it.

Likely no OpenGl drivers and an anemic GPU
Which explains all the lagginess. Also shows how the GHz theory is just stupid. But if they could get the GPU working with this, it would work great since it has such a huge screen…..
WHAT IS REALLY PATHETIC IS THAT EVEN WITH THE 1GHZ PROCESSOR ITS SLOW AS HELL, YET N900 RUNNING MEEGO IS VERY FLUID WITH ITS 600 MHZ PROCESSOR + GPU
That’s cause of the drivers you moron! We have a fan made 3D openGL driver which should fix this!
Meego on N900 , 8 monhs ago
Yes there’s no hardware graphics accerlation on ARM builds for Meego 1.1 and it’s not expected until Meego 1.2.
I just want to see a MeeGo handset instead of meego running on other handsets or prototype handsets
and nice website makeover don’t know how i feel about it just yet
but its nice to see something different
This was done 8 months ago, alot has changed and improved since then
Meego on N900
They should port it to the N8 instead of the HD2.
