Two different sources are saying the Nokia Lumia 800 update is imminent. NokNok says available Now, WMPoweruser says next week. I haven’t got it yet.

I think this is the second update we heard about in December coming early 2012? Wow, definition of early 2012 being January (not August like last year).

http://mynokiablog.com/2011/12/07/software-update-available-for-nokia-lumia-800-with-charging-improvements-more-to-come-early-2012/

  • Charging improvements
  • Voicemail notification improvement
  • Replying to mail improved for Microsoft Exchange 2003 users
  • Improved display switching in bright light
  • Improved audio quality

NokNok notes the following for v7.10.8107.79. I’m not sure if I’m confusing a WP wide update and a Nokia Lumia 800 specific one that’s supposed to fix battery error where it can’t seem to reach 100%. Mine seems to have settled down and I can get a battery life of 2 days normal usage (but that means there’s hardly anything at the start of day 3):

On-screen keyboard
Fixes an issue to prevent the keyboard from disappearing during typing.

Email
Fixes a Google mail syncing issue.

Location
Fixes a location access issue. With this fix, the Me feature in the People Hub sends anonymous information about nearby Wi-Fi access points and cell towers to Microsoft only if you agree to allow the Check In function to access and use location information.

Security
Revokes digital certificates from DigiCert Sdn Bhd to address an encryption issue.

Email Threads
Fixes an email issue related to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. With this fix, when you reply to or forward a message, the original message is now included in your response.

Voicemail
Fixes a voicemail notification display issue that occurs on some European and Asian networks under certain conditions.

Disappearing keyboard? I don’t think I’ve encountered that yet.  I did have a google sync issue when I initially started the phone but the same happened to my Omnia. It hasn’t happened since and it works fine. Is it to fix that or another bug?

Cheers Viipottaja for the tip

Update: The Lumia 800 specific one is detailed by WMPoweruser

This update will include no. of charging related (high voltage charging), power optimizations and some performance related updates that will further push your Lumia 800 usage. Also the default camera mode in Lumia 800 will be changed from Macro to Normal mode. Earlier there were reports about slow auto-focus and poor low light performance issues in Lumia 800.
