Friday LOL: Nokia Lumia 920 vs Apple iPhone 5 (Give the punches out Nokia!)

Don’t take this seriously, but as a TGIF LOL. This was left as a comment by Muerte. Not sure where the original comment image is from.

If you’re interested in a more direct comparison, check this out. Other phones in the mix too.

On a serious note, versus iPhone, Nokia Lumia 920 has some pretty excellent specifications. I read in previous comments by you guys that Phil Schiller claimed Wireless charging was ‘too difficult’ a concept for Apple fans apparently (i.e. plop it on the conduction surface – so easy on my TouchPad). Yet having to carry an adaptor so they can use a standard MicroUSB was not. You know the real reason – it’s because it’s not in the iPhone yet. Once it is, it will be a magical thing that Apple invented.  I’m hoping that’s not the case and that they’ll try to ‘innovate’ that in some way (and not simply reality distortion it).

There’s so much opportunity here for Nokia to target iPhone users in specs now. Stick to where you’re strong. Apps is getting there but don’t wage Apple on where they’re strong.

Those ‘smoked by Lumia’ thing can now KILL iPhone over and over – not with facebook uploads but smooth videos, low light shots, sensitive screen touches, wireless charging! Those are cool things consumers might find quite appealing and something the current iPhone does not offer.

Sadly, we DON’T have the device available to sway people over. So many have been waiting to switch to the new iPhone. You may have changed many minds with the Lumia 920. But where is it?!?!?! How can people buy something that’s not there? It’s ok for the fans to wait perhaps but Joe Average and co aren’t even aware your device exists to even contemplate waiting.

Ignore the spec-warring Droids. Go for the more premium iPeepls with the 920.

In my opinion wireless charging at the present time has one major disadvantage and that is charging time, I am sure it is slower then USB and a lot slower the direct charging. I have a N8 and one of the things I have always liked about it is the dual charging capability. On the other hand wireless charging has one great advantage at least for the future, if companies build there devices to the current standard the one charger can fit all devices no matter who builds them. Imagine all cell phones, tablets, etc. being able to be charged by a single charger, that would certainly make it easier for people to build chargers into public places like airports, cafes, anywhere.

I heard it takes 6 hours to charge.. so its an overnight kind of deal I guess. But it makes me wonder, if its that slow, that means that its outputting around 200-300mA, which.. depending on what you are doing, might not be enough to charge the phone fast enough for it not to die.

Its an exciting time to be a Nokia fan again!

The most feature packed, high spec phone that makes iPhone5 look meh.

After having sand kicked in their face for years, they have bulked up and come back to kick some butt.

    Push the point home Nokia!

Somehow, somehow… CNet just had to make the iPhone 5 win. They say that the camera has set benchmarks and so the new one will be even better. Have these guys even seen the N8, let alone the 808PV?
