Weekend Watch: Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 demo (vs iPhone, Xperia Acro S and SGSIII)

| September 22, 2012 | 31 Replies

This video shows what you may have seen in the previous posts yesterday as it’s from the same event (what ever that was).

You can see that super sensitive touch being tested with a cloth and with a key, either way, ANY tool would work (it’s not like when capacitive works by accident when using a thin cloth/latex gloves).

The screen from this camera looks overly bright and the camera can’t seem to handle the brightness.

The same demo with the remote control car is seen again as is the low light test.

Finally we can see the wireless charging in action. You can see how physical connection is not needed. If you could levitate the 920 a bit, it would still charge. Perhaps someone could combine that accessory we saw in the Helsinki Nokia Flagship store where they had something that levitated the 920.

Great great but, still we cant buy 920 :( damn Microsoft and Nokia, why are you announcing phone months before ready to sell :/

    • Rinslowe says:

This is mainly a MS issue with Windows 8 coming through a little late.

However other manufacturers like HTC have been able to confirm launch dates, so…

But yeah, Lumia 920 needs to be out, like yesterday!!

In comparison, here is the “World’s most advanced” display. Good quality, eh?

I can’t believe how many problems the new iPhone has already faced. If this was Nokia’s phone, it would be a total shitstorm all over internet. The new body is very easy to scratch as well:

If it runs MeeGo, the screen will be 4.8 isn’t it?

  9. Mapantz says:

You can tell how good the refresh rate is on that Lumia screen, when the video plays back, you don’t see the refresh rate lines on the screen, like tyhe SGS3 shows. Very nice!

damn the 920 is massive. I didnt get the GS3 just because its such a wide phone and then Nokia comes and follows the big screen trend. The 900 was pushing it and the 920 is bigger than the 900 thats too much. they couldve made it just 4″ and like the n9 with the least amount of screen space wasted like its being wasted on the 920.

    • JGrove303 says:

And then a 6 foot tall caveman like me would be turned off from it. A caveman who is dead tired of a 3.5″ screen and feels .5″ isn’t going to cut it.

There will be a Lumia at 4.” I do agree, they should have one that size withe the same hardware the display probably cost the same.

Is ot this guy’s lighting, or is that 820 Dutch Orange? Got to br the red, but now i want it even more.
