Weekend Watch: Nokia Lumia 920 hands on and cinemagraph demo.

| September 22, 2012 | 22 Replies

Here’s a hands on of the Nokia Lumia 920 which I found informative on a few new things to me.

I’ll mention the all the features mentioned:

  • Super sensitive touch, not only your finger tips
  • PureMotion HD+
  • Clear Black
  • Sunlight Readability enhancement
  • High Brightness mode (600 nits outdoors) – Best readability outdoors

Lenses part of the camera UI opened fast, like a natural part of the UI. I dislike camera extras because of the slight lag. This opens up much faster.

Also cinemagraph looks very easy to use but versatile enough to specify what frame segment you want and what areas you wish to move in your ‘picture..

each time i see those cinemagraphs, i remember those lame pics from the harrypotter movies..

i didnt imagine it would be this fun in real life :)

just imagine if apple “invented it” and marketed it like its “panorama” thingy.. seroiusly, no kind of innovation beats marketing these days…

  2. M says:

Its kinda of hint that its release is imminent in that Nokia is letting more and more people play around with the device and also seemed to have fixed in the glitch in the video recording app.

What’s also quite impressive is how the movement of the Nokia rep during the recording didn’t translate to the same during playback…

Or was that just wishful thinking on my part?

  4. Jkl says:

Really..cinema-graph? Nokia thinks this will win back fans and attract new customers?

    • Muerte says:

Really, panorama app, you think that it will keep Apple on top in the future?

Please don’t troll, you know that Lumia 920 is so much more that just cinema-graph app. It is a nice bonus, but that’s it.

BTW, I assume that the internet will be full of .gifs this time next year…

Looks awesome, coming to 7.8 too I think!

Nokia did confirm at Conversations that they will bring Cinemagraph to all Lumia phones in an upcoming update.

Looks cool. Hope to give this a go when the update is available. ;)

  6. Sonny says:

did she just say 600 nits is the highest it can go? and its the brightest screen? doesn’t the e6 have a screen that have 1000nits?

  7. Sonny says:

Is that a Cyan 920 that guy is holding in the video :D

    just a note about Apple

looks like the devices are having more than software issues

people are reporting loose parts: rattling inside the phone when shaking and the lens cover is loose as well

damaged devices: scratches on the housing and nicks on the glass

antennagate2 as well as people are reporting dropped bars based from holding it as a phone
