Leak or Fake: Verizon Nokia Lumia 9xx super blurry pic
Remember this?
That was a supposed leak of a Nokia PureView, prior to the first Nokia PureView, the Nokia Lumia 920. This does sport the bright yellow that many have found appealing. Notice the squircle-ish shape of the camera hole.
We have previously seen another, more Lumia-esque (fabula design) case with a similar shaped square hole for what seemed to be a larger camera.
The new picture circulating around may be some attempt at trolling or it might indeed be another upcoming PureView.
It looks like an LED light to me. It might very well be and the camera bit is still somewhere else.
The source is @NokiaPureView who claims this to be Verizon’s Nokia Lumia 9xx. Some of our readers doubt whether that source is actually credible.

I don’t believe in this shit
It would be quite a bombshell if Nokia and Verizon were to announce a flagship PureView WP8 phone, espeically if it had a better PureView than the 920. I hope its true and I hope Verizon tries to live up their bold claim that they “could make WP the same way the made Android”.
Especially if it was PentagramBands and worked everywhere.

no way the pureview 808 succesor will come this year. next year maybe, and it could even be on verizon, but not now. and the dude said this phone is thinner and lighter than the 920 so full pureview is out of the wuestion. i think is just a 920 variant but without the pureview branding, thus allowing a slimmer profile
that’d be a disaster. nokia already squandered their reputation as the camera kings with EDoF in all post N8 Symbians (save the 808), they’re just managing to get it back with PureView, and sure if it doesn’t have the branding you won’t expect it, but at the same time, people have a hard enough time remembering ‘Lumia’ they’ll either say ‘Lumina’ or just the Nokia. Nokia and ### is what they remember. They’ll read about the Nokia 920 having this awesome camera, hear that the 922 is the Verizon variant, buy it, and be very disappointed.
let’s hope for Nokia’s sake that every 92X is a PureView with OIS.
He/she tweeted me this early in the week, after I asked for confirmation the 9xx existed. It seemed way too fake, I didn’t think it was worthy if a post until we had more information
The cases are clearly fake, that slit seems for the volume rocker, and it doesn’t seem very likely a pureview camera would be released without a dedicated camera button, not to mention it’s required hardware for Windows phone that there are separate buttons for volume, power and camera.
They are not necessarily fakes, they may be design or case prototypes (even just some 3D prints) from an earlier prototype model. I agree they are not likely from any future shipping Nokia phone, but they may well be real Nokia leaks.

It has already been pretty much confirmed, before this, in my view that Verizon will get a WP8 Lumia 41 MP PureView device. It has been expected for the spring for quite a while now. We even had a recent discussion here would it come out at CES or MWC 2013.
The phone appearing for the holidays, though, would be a surprise.
Can an S4 Pro even handle 41MP?
The same way an ARM11 in the 808 can, with help from some Nokia chip wizardry. I think the “WP can’t handle it” boohoo was just that. Boohoo.
Personally I’d be really surprised if we don’t see a monster PureView Phase 3 Lumia by next summer. And when we hopefully do, Verizon will have it (too).
Way too many separate leaks and even Nokia comments pointing at this, for it not to be true. The way I see it only some catastrophic change would stop it, but that’s only my view of course.
But then what would a second chip do to the battery life?
Has anyone done a battery life test of the 808 taking pictures?
This is properly the the Meego phone that Nokia will produce for Jolla. Standard N8 camera with no pure view…
