Electric Pikachu Yellow – I choose you! Nokia Lumia 920 in yellow, MNB reader’s choice
After doing the last post with a poll from Alex, I noticed I had not updated yet on the results for the poll before that which asked our readers their colour preference for the Nokia Lumia 920.

Initially, in the first 200 votes, red was winning out (and Cyan was not even an official colour). At 1675 votes, yellow just edges out in front at 22.33% (maybe biased as I did post pictures of lots of yellow things I liked :p)
The yellow Nokia Lumia 920 is the flagbearer in terms of what’s prominently displayed whenever the 920 is demoed. Although such a ‘harsh’ or overtly bright colour, it’s garnered quite a lot of fans who perhaps have gotten used to Nokia’s bright new colours that has moved away from the boring blacks and white (so much so that they are now setting trends/clones).
Surprisingly, Grey came out second at 17.61%. Possibly due to Harangue’s gallery showing it off.
Third at 16.42% was the unofficial (now official) Cyan.
Fourth was the usually top scoring black at 16.36%.
Fifth at 13.13% was red
Sixth was the usual rare later edition, white, at 12.72%.
Only 1.42% wanted a colour other than what was available. Perhaps those colours are already available but in the 820?

No, I hold it in my hands and the yellow is not “flashy”. It’s super beautiful in person
Seems like yellow it is then….. Could have a last moment heart change and go with cyan but micro scratches be damned! I want my piakchu!
Imo this proves the point that Nokia is trying to make. One color isn’t for everyone.
I hope Nokia can make this work.

The numbers say.. There is a market for every colour!!
I would vote for cyan but red and yellow are good too and I would like to see them in the flesh so to speak.
I’m not suprised about grey coming in 2nd. It’s that damn left wing vote split phenomena again. There is one conservative choice and it wins (in this case 2nd) because all the left choices split their vote.
