#N9Hacks: Dark Theme for Stock Twitter client (+ more features)

| April 7, 2013 | 16 Replies

With the introduction of inception, the Harmattan community received the ability to replace system apps with their own versions (the status bar modification was perhaps the most well known). Know, thanks to the help of the community, the stock client has received a UI overhaul, with a dark theme thanks to coderus.

Its the same as the standard app, just dark!

Now thats not all, Anand Bibek has also added “quote and retweet”. Lets see what other great things the community will bring, not just to Twitter, but also to ย other apps along the way.

Changes : Loads of UI improvements, Better icons, (launcher iccons not improved yet), fixed timeline always jumping to beginning on page changes, added an option to “Quote retweet” on long press in tweet. It’d allow you to edit before retweet.

Great work by the Nokia community!

      Maemo/MeeGo Community!

      • Trexus

Yup, sadly it can’t be called the Nokia community since Nokia has turfed almost all (only a few strings remain for Harmattan) support for Maemo/MeeGo. Much of the most powerful dev work that has occurred (for many mths now), has come from the community, not Nokia or contractors etc.

Nokia N9 and Linux MeeGo most probably is the best achievement in whole Nokia history. With them Nokia again has shown that Nokia is trendsetter and as the innovator has established common standard in mobile telecommunication and computing also. Wish Nokia used it for business purposes and making money. The success of Sailfish OS (which is MeeGo in fact, in overwhelming part) and growing number of Sailfish apps is obvious proof IMHO. It is a big, great, huge pity Nokia is not taking part in this.

      wp-spam!! ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜‰

there are lot more things/articles out there where you can post something like this… I know how the wp-fanboys would react if someone post something about meego etc in a wp/lumia related article.

Just only said the true as it is. Do you know how many games are for Sailfish MeeGo?

          • John

Not many, not many at all… Most will (hopefully) come across from harmattan/fremantle, but that’s still a tiny library. Thanks to Alien Dalvik many more will come across from Android, but it remains to be seen how well that works in practice.

This is funny: “Not many, not many at allโ€ฆ” only this from Android and from MeeGo, which are ready so far – (around 200K or more?) – and what can exceed a total number of soft for the mobile system from the certain big Comapany, all-we-know-them. Thank you, you’ve made my day.

    Dear Nokia,
when we will have from you a new mobile with either MeeGo or Linux? Could you tell me?

  • Shaun

What a pity these will never get picked up by Nokia and released officially. ๐Ÿ™
