Nokia RM-750 (Nokia 500/Fate) passes FCC.

| July 29, 2011 | 14 Replies

This FCC approval sees the Nokia RM-750. Janimatik reckons it’s possibly the Nokia 500 (in the Uaprof I looked at showed every RM code except Nokia 500 -or I might have missed it.) The original four sisters were seen here .  The Nokia 500 is possibly one of the newer 1GHz Symbian handsets as seen in Harangue’s post a couple of weeks ago.

The details found earlier on the Nokia 500 showed the Anna browser, unlike the other three sister handsets that had Belle (7.4).

Tests show a Nokia BL-4U 1000mAh battery

RM-701 (Nokia 600) FCC photos + manuals etc. are short term confidential only, available at 18th October 2011.

Nokia World 2011 is 26th of October. Seems that it is for WP7 only.

Symbian Belle phones available already at Q3?

  • art_vaider

Belle phones will be not earlier Q4 2011. Probably Belle as os will never be available for current ^3 devices , because of hardware…

    • Keizka

You determine this because..? What makes you think Belle wasn’t made in the first place for the current gen S^3, but the new devices will just have extra oomph? There has been pics of E7 running Belle…

      • art_vaider

Have you ever seen real video , belle running on N8 or E7 ???
We saw only fake pics , I can show you ^4 pics as well !!!
Belle even wasn’t officially announced and we don’t have Anna yet !
You must understand that new symbian devices are goIng with new hardware ,
Omap 3630 with Cortex A9 processor and PowerVr Sgx graphics like on N9.
And this chipset needs different drivers ( gpu driver for example ) to run.
And the small team of symbian developers , which already almost doesn’t remain, won’t port Belle to work on current symbian devices with arm11 and Broadcomm Gpu.

So in short, you don’t have a clue.

          The 3630 also isn’t an A9…

The OMAP3 SOC use Cortex A8 & OMAP4 use Cortex A9. I am not a programer but I would have thought the OS would use OpenGL ES 2.0 to communicate with the GPU, both the BCM2727 & PowerVR SGX530 support this.

Nokia still have to do QA on all hardware levels so the older ARM11 will be released later as they focus on new hardware.

I have no inside knowledge on this subject, so my comments are also idle speculation.

You are wrong the N9 product manager assured me belle is coming to existing phones with belle q3-q4

      • Glenn

Meant to add belle for new phones models, existing phones won’t get it till next year

Belle coming Q2/2012 for existing devices.

    • Cod3rror

Add a 0 at the end of that 2012, then it’s the correct prognoses.

  • Cod3rror

These new designs look bad. Very uninspired.

The previous generation didn’t look much better either, only the N8 looked decent but these new ones… bleh.

    • KeiZka

if N8 was the only decent one, designwise, then what was E7?
