An interesting way to use ‘virtual reality’ by creating ‘holograms’. A more immersive augmented reality. Holy crap, it looks like that Microsoft concept video that looked like a world from 2400. I hope it works as advertised. Having tried the simple “Google Cardboard” – an entry level into virtual reality – I can definitely see […]

Microsoft was doing some cool new stuff with productivity but found they didn’t have a product yet that could utilise all those features. So they built one. My hospital loves stuff like this. They’ve got a different system for their over the internet MDT (multidisciplinary team) meetings. Looks great for smaller group lectures too. Gonna […]
Play your Xbox One games on any Windows 10 PC or tablet (no phone? : ( ) That’s still pretty cool though. Does the Xbox need to be on or does it work with things saved in the cloud?
Built for the web today, we have “project spartan”. It’ll come a little later on PC and then the phone so it won’t be on the first insider builds. But it will come. Three significant new features? 1) How you interact with the web and communicate with other people about the web Funnily enough it […]
Oh Hey, another one of those annoying Windows Phone things – the badly implemented calendar. It looks great on Windows 10. I hope we can view 7 days in a row. I like seeing the full week. But now I can have a time line by hour on the left and compare what’s happening on […]
Office for Windows will come with Wireless Printing. That’s great if you can get your wireless printer to work. I have an Epson and it decides when it wants to print (either on PC/Mac). Also the email experience gets some MS Word level editing in it too.
Having the new Office for mobile on iOS angered a lot of users. Finally it’s here on Windows for phones. Source: 1 | 2
Here’s a look at Windows 10 for phones. It’s looking pretty good! Some of these are from TheVerge liveblog and the official livestream. Recently installed appears on top. Good stuff! Slight translucent white background over the home wallpaper. Same into the notifications. Which can now be expanded Settings is revamped and is identical to the […]
In 30 minutes (or less now) Microsoft’s big Windows 10 event will begin broadcasting. You can follow our liveblog at Geekongadgets if watchinga a videos tream isn’t to your linking http://geekongadgets.com/2015/01/21/liveblog-windows-10-next-chapter-microsofts-windows-10-event/ Of course, what we are specifically waiting for is how Windows 10 will appear on phones. Either they’ve been amazing at hiding leaks or Windows […]
Here’s a letter you would have received if you signed up to the insider programme at Microsoft. Tomorrow, the new consumer features for Windows 10 as well as Windows 10 for phones will finally be revealed. Hurrah! Hello, Windows Insider – It’s Gabe again from here in the Operating Systems Group (OSG), with more Windows […]
The Nokia Lumia 520 was the entry level smartphone that packed a huge punch. It was no surprise that it quickly became the best selling Microsoft product at the time. The 530 successor tried to repeat the same success but had taken a bit too much in the way of compromises. The 535 fixed all […]
No not really. This week there were rumours of Sony considering selling off their mobile division as their Android Xperia devices weren’t making the sales they needed. They were already in the process of “streamlining” aka trimming down, their mobile portfolio and concentrate on a few but great devices. Sony had some strong potential; cybershot, handycam, vaio, […]
A couple of related posts – both PocketNow and TheVerge share their feedback on the new Lumia Camera with Lumia denim and they’re really impressed, in particular with Rich Capture. PocketNow finds the 930 to take some of the best smartphone photos they’ve ever seen on a mobile device. 8.3MP shots from 4K video […]
A new Lumia with Nokia is a thing of dreams, so here’s a reappearance of a MyDreamNokia concept post. This is the Nokia Lumia J. Chamfered shiny edges – ahh, these give me fright as they scratch so easily. This one’s cool – LED lights certainly do grab attention. This would work in awesome combo […]
One of the things that I’ve found frustrating on most phones is the lack of logic in organising settings. It felt like they were just thrown together and that was that. WP did make some of the basic/most used settings available first but beyond that, it felt confusing. It’s not much better with iOS […]
