Grass made rugby and recycling inspired O2 Windows Phone

Yes, the above is somehow made of grass. 240 hours of pulping Twickenham grass clippings which are then moulded into a template which is then encased in an eco friendly resin. I can’t tell if this is a separate WP or a Lumia 520 with an alternative case. Advertisements The whole thing is bonded together with […]

Lumia 435 vs Lumia 532 vs Lumia 535

| March 22, 2015 | 3 Replies

Italian blog, HDBlog.it compares the low end offerings from Microsoft, Lumia 435, 532 and my favourite of the bunch 535. The first two seem identical in design but differ slightly in internals. Note that despite the 535 being highest numerically, the 532 one ups it in the glance screen arena. Advertisements

I guess this is something I hadn’t encountered before since I had always been using phones with a minimum of 16gb storage. My aunt is now using the Lumia 530 which I set up for her some weeks ago.  But she’s unable to complete the requested update because there isn’t enough space on the phone. […]

Nokia’s Z launcher updated, Microsoft OneDrive and Next Lock too

Couple of updates for OneDrive and Z-launcher on my Note 4. It was also requesting for an update for HERE maps but it doesn’t download anything upon clicking. OneDrive supposedly has some visual changes. Next Lockscreen also seems to have a minor update.

Cortana’s caring side #maketechhuman

Yes, I know I’m mixing up hashtags for brands but this is a great example of making something as cold as tech feel for human and personal. Though I guess majority of Cortana enabled devices are still Nokia branded. Anyway… Some redditors have shared Cortana’s responses to either being sick or feeling sad. The responses […]

Cortana on Android and iOS – lack of exclusivity on windows, good or bad?

| March 15, 2015 | 23 Replies

This topic had been specifically discussed a few times already when the notion that Cortana might be heading outside of the Windows Phone platform. Some welcomed this as simply being on Xbox and PC but others thought it was a sign to go cross platform. As a cloud first and mobile first company, Microsoft seems […]

Nokia Lumia Birthday Card

Nokia Lumia Birthday Card

| March 12, 2015 | 7 Replies

My sister likes hand drawing out personalised cards. She sent this one over Whatsapp as I’m still in the Philippines. It’s a Nokia Lumia 920 birthday card, in yellow, including Lumia tiles! She uses a 920 too and takes pictures for her own blog (previously to 920, was the 710). I thought it was pretty […]

HERE Makes a Return to iOS; Full Offline Support In Tow

| March 11, 2015 | 5 Replies

When Apple decided to remove Google Maps as the default mapping solution on iOS, Nokia attempted to disrupt some market share and launched HERE on iOS. Sadly, it was only a HTML5 wrapper and all the things that made HERE a winner were absent. Last year we saw HERE’s commitment to being the best offline […]
